McCain has swept the anti-war vote in New Hampshire. The uninformed (let's face it, they are a majority of voters) think he is the Republican who will bring the troops home. How is this possible?!
Well, what do you expect when our campaign's ads are all over the place? The fliers I've seen are about the length of the Declaration of Independence, in small print, and mentioning Iraq somewhere in the middle. The TV and radio ads talk about immigration, abortion and student visas.
But that's not what attracted me or you to Ron Paul in the first place. I bet 90% of us first gave him a hearing because of the war. Only after that you come to appreciate the fine points.
The polls show that fully 1/3 of Republicans nationwide are against the war, and even more among the independents. A consistent 33+%, in state after state, is enough to win in such a divided field. We can win by focusing exclusively on this issue, and we can't win otherwise.
So put immigration, abortion and monetary policy on the back burner. Just issue out thousands and thousands of ads hammering through this simple message, and making sure it reaches every uninformed person in the country: RON PAUL IS THE ONLY CONSERVATIVE AGAINST THE WAR. Romney will double Guantanamo. Huckabee thinks it's too nice there. McCain will keep us in Iraq for 100 years. So vote Ron Paul!
This message would have won NH today. But it's still not too late for the rest of the country.
