cell phone tracking

This is probably old news, not sure if it has been posted before. But I was surprised to hear about it and how obvious it is. Supposedly this tracking technology was originally mandated "in the name of safety" (for 911 calls), as all violations of civil liberties seem to be. The point is, they know where we are when our cell phones are on.

The company I last worked for in cable tv used to eaves drop on me every time I sat on my radio mike.
