Precinct Chair: "The Most Powerful Office in America"

Anyone who wants to change the direction of a society must take control of the power centers of society.

An Idea Whose Time Has Come - G. Edward Griffin - Freedom Force International

The Precinct Conventions that elect the Precinct Chairs are one of the power centers of society. Information about precincts is scarce (perhaps because it is so powerful), that's why I made this post to gather the useful information.

A county is divided into precincts. A precinct is an area that contains a maximum of 2,999 voters, usually with about 1000 voters within an area of several streets. The precincts are called the grassroots of the political parties. Each political party in each precinct is represented by a Precinct Chair (or Chairman/Leader/Executive/Delegate/Officer/etc, the position seems to be called by many names). The Precinct Chairs within a county make up a party Central Committee. Through the Central Committee's powers the Precinct Chairs together are extremely influential in the county, state, and the national party. Political parties are set up like a corporation in each state.

An explanation about why the Precinct Chair/Executive is so powerful, a "power center of society":
    http://www.networkamerica.org/most_powerful_office.htm

A 10-minute lesson in taking back the Precinct Chair/Executive offices:
    http://www.networkamerica.org/10minute.htm

See page 8 for a chart of the powers of the Precinct Chairs and Central Committee, some info page 7 onwards:

The strategy for taking back the Precinct Chairs and Central Committee power center of society:
    http://www.networkamerica.org/action_program_2008.htm

    An example for us:
    http://ronpaul.meetup.com/119/calendar/6910581/

The Precinct Conventions (or caucuses, etc) held on even numbered years (2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012) are where the Precinct Chairs and other Party office holders and in some cases delegates are elected by voters. In some states the Precinct Conventions are where delegates to the County, State, and National Party Conventions get their start. The delegates that make it to the National Convention are who choose the party's presidential candidate.

If we want to elect liberty people then we need to vote for liberty supporters as delegates (directly or indirectly through candidate slates) and Precinct Chairs in the Precinct Conventions, the County Conventions, and the State Conventions to get them to the National Convention where they can vote for liberty. The result is also our taking back the political party.

Each political party only accounts for 50% of the political power in America though, and the other party accounts for the other 50%. With only 50% of the political power we are still susceptible to the control of the other 50%, so we have to take back both major parties to regain actual control of the country. The parties in power are who control the election systems, third parties don't have any power and so they cannot control the election systems to ensure fairness, so they can't get elected. Like Ron Paul said, the system in this country is biased against democracy. Ideally our goal is to have almost all candidates in all parties running for all offices to be working towards our goals, just like the opposite of the 2008 presidential elections. The goals of the parties have already been so twisted around that the distinction between parties is essentially meaningless.

Other power centers of society are the economic systems, mainstream media, widely believed misconceptions, and the schooling system. Educating people about the truth and discrediting the mainstream media, and helping others free themselves from the controlled economic systems should also be our goals as Precinct Chairs and community leaders.

So your immediate goals should be:
    1. Get as many precincts with liberty Republican Precinct Chairs and liberty Delegates as possible. (Become a liberty Precinct Captain, find out more about your Precinct Conventions and how to become a Precinct Chair, canvass your precinct, organize with other Precinct Captains, find other people to be Precinct Chairs or liberty Delegates in other precincts, educate people on the Precinct Chair office and Central Committee, take back the Republican Central Committees)
    2. Get as many liberty voters as possible. (print media ads, canvassing, get physical information into people's hands such as fliers/newspaper ads)
    3. Get the liberty voters to the polls and Precinct Conventions. (phone calls, cars, buses, whatever it takes)
    4. Get as many precincts with Democrat freedom movement Precinct Chairs as possible. Take back the Democrat Central Committees.
    5. Take control of the Party Central Committees and elect liberty Delegates, endorse freedom movement people for local offices, and ensure fair elections.

Control of the precincts and county parties with secret funding from bankers is what "Col." Edward Mandel House wrote about in his book of fiction "Philip Dru: Administrator" published in 1911. In 1912 House helped Woodrow Wilson get elected.

There are about 3,140 counties in the US, an average of 62 per state. There are an average of 12 precincts per county. So there are about 37,200 precincts in the US per political party. So it would seem that both major parties, and thus virtually the entire government apparatus of the US, are controlled by only about 74,400 people. Add some friends for each precinct and about 223,200 people could take complete control if they were well organized. And it could only take a majority of that number, since it seems only 51% are needed to control in the democratic elections of the precinct-county level. It may be that many positions are empty, and could be taken with just one vote.

    on primary election day,

1 thing that happened is the gop primary voting officials told all the republican registered voters that there is not a precinct meeting following the vote. Republicans don't do that! you just vote in the primary and go home! BS!!!

The tried to make me leave the post office which i did not. They were so convincing that others in the voting line (of all ages 50+) were arguing with me that there isn't a precinct meeting and you can't become a delegate.
make a long story short i told them this is a federal building and i have the right to be here as long as i wish if you dont like it then call the police. i stayed, there was a meeting and i was elected by 90% following robert's rules.

In my County, 46 Ron Paul supporters filed to run for Precinct Chair. 32 are running unopposed, so we have in essence - alredy won those elected positions. We are replacing the old ideas with the new ones - the neo-con message is being replaced with the freedom message. Find out how it works in your county and get involved. Saving the country when you have to deal with the neo-cons is an ugly job, but realize that Ron Paul does this every day and that will inspire you. Not to mention that my name is now on the ballot with Ron Paul -- how cool is that?

    Yes, I agree

Unfortunately this forum section is the least popular, few people are here, few have visited.

Most people want to read the gossip where everyone else is at, even in THESE forums. Goes to show the mentality of picking a winner, rather than picking a principle.

I think people need to realize soon that we will have to fight this battle long after this election. If we don't start setting ourselves up now, this will never go anywhere. NH was kind of a wake-up call for me. I had more faith in the American people as a whole, but I realize that we still have a long ways to go if we want to really make any changes. We have a lot more to fight for than just one presidential election.

Here in NC, there are 3 positions available in the precincts. There is a Chair, Vice Chair, & delegate. The powers that be are trying to make the last position an elected position (and call it 'Secretary'), but as of this date it is NOT an elected position, especially so in the more rural communities where they have a hard time filling the seats of precinct officials.

I am an electoral judge for my precinct (7 years running now) and I also serve as a delegate for my precinct (very rural community). Being a precinct delegate allows me a vote at county convention & also at NC's 3rd Congressional District convention. Last year I was allowed a vote at State convention as well, due to the lack of precinct delegates from my part of the state attending the state convention.

*I would not be allowed to do this if the precinct delegate position were an elected position* I understand in more populated areas the positions are vied over, but in the more rural areas, they have a hard time filling them.

NC is allowed 3 Delegates per district. These delegates are voted upon at District convention & these are the delegates that are committed to going to National Convention in Minneapolis this year.

We need as many folk as possible to run for the position of District Delegate. The only way to make this happen is by getting involved in your voter precinct.

Thanks so much for posting this! I'm saddened that more are not taking it upon themselves to ensure that Dr. Paul has as much support as possible at National Convention. This is the only way to make that happen.

i just met with my county central committee chairman and got his backing to run for precinct chair. we talked a long time about policies and principles. no Iraq War, though, and no discussion of presidential candidates. i'm sure had either of those come up, i would have lost him.

Yep that's where we loose em.

Mention Ron Paul & your automatically labeled a conspiracy nut. And to talk of anything anti-war gives one the automatic label of "liberal traitor".

    *sigh*

They are coming at us from so many angles it's scary. We need to be fighting back on all fronts-- both within & without the political box they've created, to the best of our individual abilities using the individual tools each of us has.

    Precinct Leaders

For those of you who are leaders in precincts that have already voted, please, visit the official website, sign in, and on the list of things to do, click on out of state identification. It took me 10 minutes to call 8 numbers. Only one took the survey (the rest were disconnected or voicemail). Every one of these that we can get done is huge, and with so many people in the system, it shouldn't be too hard to put a big dent in the numbers.

The way the site is set up is extremely easy. We need to get those Potomac voters, the race isn't over yet.

Thanks for posting this, its all GREAT information. I'm young, I'm 21, but I'm going to try to become a precinct chair or something, whatever it would be that I could do, for my precinct during the next time this election comes up. Hopefully things will work out and I can make it happen. My district is rural and doesn't have tons of people, so hopefully there won't be anyone really finding a problem with me.

    justinc.1089: Great!

Make some friends that you can bring along to make sure you get elected!

Read about "Neuro-Linguistic Programming" and "rapport" for some useful ideas on talking. Here's a start: http://www.nlp-now.co.uk/rapport.htm

Read about pick-up: http://www.fastseduction.com/guide/ and try the exercises to build confidence and get used to talking to people. A lot of it is based on NLP principles.

Also read "How to Win Friends and Influence People" for some more ideas. Maybe read "Sleight of Mouth: Conversational Belief Change" for some more advanced ideas.

    Good luck!

Now would seem to be a good time for people to step up and act on this, both parties seem to be weakened and with initiative things could change for the better.

NV Democrats floundering. How are their conventions going in YOUR state? http://www.dailypaul.com/node/139315

odd-numbered years are usually the year for the elections of party officers. We need to make a monster push in 2011.
http://glenbradley.net/share/aleksan...nitsyn_4-t.gif “And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.” ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

This is a HUGE year here in NC, but it is right after the first of next year that precinct meetings start happening.

It's never too late to get a jump on things tho, get out there and do some campaigning with the nearest liberty candidate if you can.

Volunteer to do some phone banking if you have unlimited long distance (it doesn't matter where you are, you can do this...)

Find out when your local party of choice is having their meeting, regardless of what kind of meeting it is, and GO.

Get out there and do something....
Liberty, of course, has her price in blood, if we do not suppport her when she is in trouble.

Is this really true? If so, I'm going to need to get working and get tons of Ron Paul people in as precinct whatchamas here in Wyoming. It's a caucus state, and so the precinct people have ridiculous, disproportionate power, unilaterally sending whoever they want to the GOP convention as delegates.

I have become precinct chair for my area, precinct 41 of texas. It was so easy, i just emailed my county chair and bam, it was done. Some chick had been filling in but she was from another precinct because NOBODY in my whole precinct was contacting the county chair to organize anything. People just email these guys, I know you shy or whatever else could be stopping you but its too easy to not do this for your freedom. Find out who your county chairman is and email him about becoming a delegate or precinct chair.
