Election Surprise: Judge Roy Moore Backs Ron Paul

On Iowa WHO talk radio right now, Ron Paul was just on being interviewed along with Judge Roy Moore, the famous judge loved by the Christian evangelical base. Moore is pretty much backing Ron Paul because as a judge he understands that we must follow the Constitution from a strict constructionist perspective.

Well I couldn't hear the very first part. But he called in specially to talk when Ron Paul was on. And he said "We need someone who will follow the Constitution." And then he discussed his views of the Church and its role in America under the Constitution and Ron Paul said "I agree exactly with what he's saying."

Maybe there will be an official announcement soon.

He should have come out of the closet a week or two ago. Now its going to be too late for IA.
    Cheers,
    mark...

An official Judge Moore endorsement would be HUGE here in the South and would certainly help Dr. Paul carry Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

Uh, Judge Roy Moore is very divisive. Some Christians love him and others detest him.

i could see how this would be huge... but i don't like moore.
One difference between libertarianism and socialism is that a socialist society can't tolerate groups of people practicing freedom, but a libertarian society can comfortably allow people to choose voluntary socialism. If a group of people--even a very large group--wanted to purchase land and own it in common, they would be free to do so. The libertarian legal order would require only that no one be coerced into joining or giving up his property.

Many mainline protestants don't care for him. But the evangelical base that makes up the biggest voting bloc of the GOP sees him as a hero.

Which is why an offical endorsement from Moore would be GREAT here in the bible-belt of fly-over country.

Not everyone who endorses Ron Paul needs to be Mother Teresa. We need to continue to get as many endorsements as we can and the campaign is doing a great job at that.

    Roy Moore Endorsement

I don't personally care for him much, and I know he is controversial even within segments of the evangelical community, but there are definitely a number of voters that he could help us with. Too bad we didn't have this a week ago. It will *Definitely* help us in the South.

  22. #19
It's a push, really. For every voter who likes Moore, at least one other voter doesn't. Endorsements are always welcome...

This would be great, great, great!

"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." The "Christians" that don't like Moore are the same ones voting for socialism, big government, and don't care for the strict adherence to the Constitution. -- they fear that their "Big G" pudding will be taken away.

They are more likely to vote for democrats And less likely to vote for Paul anyway because of his strict Constitutional and small Gov. stance.

    TMIKE

NOTE: This is a major gain opportunity -- its not a wash-- many of the Huckabee hordes would defect to RP with a Roy Moore endorsement.

    Arrow talked to roy's foundation

Apparently they got on the line and agreed on issues and made things look supportive of each other...but no official endorsement...

Roy's people we asked about tv ads in the past and got a kind and respectful response that Mr. Moore is not endorsing anyone.
