Default Just got back from Iowa

I just spent two and half weeks in my home state of Iowa for Christmas. Here are my impressions of Ron Paul's presence:

    • Not many signs/banners, I think I only saw 2 or 3, don't recall seeing any for Huckabee, but saw tons for Romney.
    • The Paul campaign is doing fantastic with mailers!! Our household got one Ron Paul flier almost every day; 5-6x more than any other candidate. Plus his mailings are VERY well produced and the message is clear and concise.
    • We got several calls per week from Paul, which is slightly more than the others.

I hate to say it though, my dad is extremely anti-Paul, I never mentioned my support for Paul but every time Paul was mentioned my dad would go on to say how Ron is a traitor and wants to give the country to the terrorists because "we are nothing without self defense" while he doesn't realize that Ron Paul is 100% for self DEFENSE and would even strengthen the military.

Ask any questions you want about what I saw.

I have too close of a relationship with my family to put something stupid like politics in the mix. Although we did go to a McCain speech.

A more likely outcome in my opinion, some member of the family can NOT handle the truth, e.g. my mother. You ought to see her blow up when you criticize her indoctrination. She just blows up like a big bag of hot air. Furthermore, she has health issues at her age. Even more importantly, I've seen another family member resort to anti-depressant pills such as Prozac when confronted with reality. Unfortunately, I'm serious and I know that this problem isn't confined to my family. A lot of people are so indoctrinated by the media that they literally can not handle the truth when confronted with it, because the truth sounds strange and demands their TIME and RESPONSIBILITY to overcome their brainwashing. It's sad, but true which is one of the reasons why I detest programming outlets like Fox News.

    Talking

Here's an important part of Napolitano's speech at the FFF conference:

I always wonder what people who disagree with Paul's foreign policy think of this important message.
We need now only to mobilize the army of true believers to present the case for the principles that built America, and can make Her great once again. -Ron Paul

Unfortunately, it isn't much of a relationship if you have to constantly cower about letting him know your ideas, all the while he is allowed to espouse his. Definitely lopsided.
Forcing him to face alternative viewpoints will make him a better person and improve his character.
