Thread: What are you listening to?

Shakira is playing on the random spin. Which is nice because in order to post what I'm listening to I get to watch this video. Which I really like...

I'll say one thing, random play is the gift that keeps on giving. Whomever thought that function up is a freaking genius.

Here is a Vinnie Vincent Demo of a song that he wrote from around 1983 when he was in KISS. Vinnie is on vocals here.

It's a shame some of these demos never made it to production because they are quite good. If folks don't know Vinnie Vincent, he's one of the best guitar players of all time. A good song writer too. In fact, aside from writing songs and playing guitar for KISS, he was also the songwriter for the television series Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi.

    Anyhoo...

Ok I have a massive music collection spanning across all genres- everything from mainstream pop to obscure Norwegian black metal...I have a fair amount of knowledge when it comes to music.

I have spent most of my life thinking this was a matchbox twenty song....wtf

I'm really liking Jaded Heart again lately. The original Jaded Heart, that is. These German bands got me through the misery that was 90's American noise.

These are the best albums from the Bormann era. They are all really good AOR melodic albums.

1994: Jaded Heart – Inside Out
    1996: Jaded Heart – $laves And Master$
1998: Jaded Heart – Mystery Eyes
    1999: Jaded Heart – IV
    2001: Jaded Heart – Diary
2002: Jaded Heart – The Journey Will Never End
    2004: Jaded Heart – Trust

I heard a live version of a song I posted a while back in this thread. The other video was more of a heavy metal version.

The accordion sounds awesome to me. Not only that but all the accordion players friends sound great. This gives hope to a fantasy of mine. I play a clarinet and sometimes dream of it sounding good like this. It's going to take some friends helping out to ever make it happen.

Kongos - Come With Me Now (Live at the Edge)

    KONGOS

Lyrics for Come With Me Now

    Come with me now
    Come with me now

    Whoa, come with me now
    I'm gonna take you down
    Whoa, come with me now
    I'm gonna show you how

    Whoa, come with me now
    I'm gonna take you down
    Whoa, come with me now
    I'm gonna show you how

    Afraid to lose control
And caught up in this world
I've wasted time, I've wasted breath
I think I've thought myself to death

I was born without this fear
    Now only this seems clear
I need to move, I need to fight
I need to lose myself tonight

    Whoa, come with me now
    I'm gonna take you down
    Whoa, come with me now
    I'm gonna show you how

I think with my heart and I move with my head
I open my mouth and it's something I've read
I stood at this door before, I'm told
But a part of me knows that I'm growing too old

Confused what I thought with something I felt
Confuse what I feel with something that's real
I tried to sell my soul last night
Funny, he wouldn't even take a bite

    Far away
I heard him say (Come with me now)
    Don't delay
I heard him say (Come with me now)

    Far away
I heard him say (Come with me now)
    Don't delay
I heard him say (Come with me now)

    Whoa, come with me now
    I'm gonna take you down
    Whoa, come with me now
    I'm gonna show you how

    Afraid to lose control
And caught up in this world
I've wasted time, I've wasted breath
I think I've thought myself to death

I was born without this fear
    Now only this seems clear
I need to move, I need to fight
I need to lose myself tonight

    Whoa, come with me now

    Whoa, come with me now
    I'm gonna take you down
    Whoa, come with me now

This album by KMFDM has a pretty strong anti-establishment message in it (Most of them do), though it might not be your style if you don't like Industrial Metal:

This is the kind of stuff that they drop the suds from the ceiling and the mamacitas go buck crazy on the dance floor around here. Well..not that I would know about such things.
