DVD 2.0 Thread - Preview Video, Suggestions, links to HQ video

Still need HQ video. Music, menus, background images are a 2 hour process.

My idea is to have a very simple menu, starting on the big 'PLAY' button on the flag, where only one button needs to be pressed to play the main movie (20 min? Las Vegas compilation? Iowa speech?). Viewers who are interested can also find a menu for pictures of ron paul and graphs of his online success, or other HQ clips.

This way, anybody can use it, and it looks good.

Any suggestions? Choice of videos? Must be in HQ, want this to be very professional. Thanks for your input.

I'd like a menu of major topics, these for example:

1. the War in Iraq, and foreign policy in general
2. Federal Reserve, restoring the US dollar
3. Immigration, restoring the integrity of our borders
4. Taxes
5. Abortion, Roe v. Wade
6. civil rights: all individuals have the same rights, no group rights (special interests)
7. Education
8. Social Services (medicare, welfare, etc.)
9. corporate welfare
10. real free trade, not managed trade

When I click on one, it might show me a short clip about why it's a problem followed by a clip of Dr. Paul explaining what he would do about it. The clip that details the problem could also be Dr. Paul, but it might be more effective if it was someone else.

The Iowa speech is about an hour long and a great starting point, IMO. RP discusses most (all?) of the issues on my list.

The DVD must be DVD quality though. Watching YouTube full screen on the household TV is not a good viewing experience.

Short clips of an RP speech for each issue is possible, but HQ video is needed. If it is all to be high quality, then there's a limit to how much video can be included.

Exponent's CD is more like that, the html cd lends itself to more complex file structure.

ABSOLUTELY take out the Pledge part: it was pushed by a socialist preacher (thrown out by his flock for his socialist preaching) to punish the South for exercising their self-determination. Search Mises.org for more info.

I like the idea of a DVD menu like logicprobe illustrated. Just like in movie DVDs, they could also be given the option of playing the whole thing, start to finish.

Background: I think there are better pictures of him than the one used on the main menu. Maybe his official campaign photo? I'm not sure about the one on the pictures sub-menu, because it cuts off part of his head. Do you think most people will be that interested in looking at a bunch of pictures, anyway? If you keep it, please include the pictures of Dr. Paul with Ronald Reagan.

I really don't like the arrangement of the music used when you clicked on "pictures". Sounds too dark. I also think if you want to use the John Wayne Pledge of Allegiance, it should be located somewhere else, because it will get irritating very quickly if it is launched every time one goes back to the main menu.

I would love to see more.

I'll decide menu structure based on what high quality footage I have access to. Right now, I only have 'colbert report', but more are being uploaded at this FTP site soon. I might be able to do the menu as suggested with clips from the Iowa speech.
