Rules for buying political ad space in small magazines?

Are there any rules against a private individual buying political ad space in a small magazine?

For example, me buying a page for Ron Paul in "San Jose Cat Fancier's Monthly" or in "Santa Clara Roofers weekly" ?

    Good question.

I don't think roofers in California are going to go for Ron Paul's stance on illegal immigration, though.

Just counter it with Paul's dissolution of OSHA.

My wife 10 years ago worked for advertising.
She said you can buy "article" space in magazines. It will have a disclaimer "this article paid for by ...", but I'm thinking, if the MSM won't cover RP, the grassroots supporters can buy ad space.
    better than an ad,
Here's an example magazine. A small ad is $60 - but instead of an ad, maybe we can buy a 2 page "article" - it could be an interview of sorts - I think it would be better than an ad, because it can discuss a lot of RP's stands. What do you guys think?

This magazine is a fortnightly events magazine for San Jose:

I am doing this in NY on Monday. Local pennysaver pamphlets everyone reads for services, and things for sale. Five different towns, 25 word ad all for $40. It will reach 64,000 people. That`s bang for buck!!

Buying radio advertising on your local conservative talk radio station would be much more effective.
