How long until results from early primary states are in?

I searched and couldn't find an answer to this question. This isn't my first election to vote in, but its the first one I've ever cared about, and the first I've ever paid any attention to the primaries. I'm not sure exactly how these things work as far as results go.

Are the results nationally televised? Televised at all? Announced late the same night? Does it take several days?

Every day that gets closer to the Iowa and NH primaries I get more excited. Don't tell my family but I'm just as excited about the primaries as I am about the Holiday festivities.

I mainly want to know if I should plan to make a late night of it anxiously waiting for the results to come in or take the next day off if I need to. I'm keeping my expectations to a realistic level, but I think at the least Ron Paul will do well enough to put the BS "poll results" to rest.

Keep up the good work to all of you working for our Man and his message in the early states! And Thanks!

A few hours after the votes are in, expect all the big media stations to start talking about the winner and runner-ups 24/7.

The results of each primary and caucus state will be available a few hours after the polls close, or in the morning.

The MSM will report the results before the voting stops, I assure you.

They always do. I can't wait to see them have to change their tune. Although they'll probably still find a way to marginalize Ron Paul, they haven't let me down so far.

I imagine a mantra of "Paul polling at 30%, well, these ARE just exit polls and not accurate of the actual polls"
