I'm all for getting to $20 million but a money bomb on December 31st won't generate any publicity on New Years Day.
Publicity is not the goal though..... pushing above 20 mil for the quarter is.
What ever comes with it in regards to publicity is a bonus.

I think we need some serious promoting for the blimp because I don't want to see it grounded due to a lack of funds,
But I'm still in for this. It has a point and reason behind it so I like the idea somewhat. Its not just some random date thrown out there for a moneybomb, it will actually help Paul with this quarter so it has a point, and so I'm in.

We've beaten the all time one day fundraising effort so let's stop worrying about press coverage. Now we just need to keep the campaign going. Donate 2008 is a great idea. Other small money bombs are also forming. Visit Ron Paul Regional Money Bomb for more info.
I agree, we need to fund the blimp and keep it in the air. Also we need to encourage and help individuals from the various Meetup groups travel to Iowa and New Hampshire to get Ron Paul's message out to the voters.
We can break the strangle hold the MSM has on Ron Paul's campaign if we go local with most of our efforts. The MSM may be able to control most of the information received by the masses but we can control some of what the voters hear on the local level by targeting the local news media and talking with the people one-on-one and passing out flyers with the Ron Paul message.
I have helped several individuals make the trip to Iowa by donating a few dollars to them. I intend to help more as funds come available.
Make no mistake about it, we are in a media war with the MSM. They throw out a few crumbs every now and then by mentioning Ron Paul's name however even positive news about Ron Paul and his campaign is usually balanced with something negative.
This morning CNN mentioned the huge sum of money we raised yesterday. Along with the announcement they said that it was a waste of money.
There have been 204,444 individual donors in the 4th quarter. If each one just donated $10 more we would be over $20,000,000 for the quarter.

Whats the significance of getting to 20 million when no one knows about it?? The campaign has sufficient cash, so you do have to ask yourself, if its just about getting round numbers, maybe its just a waste, and we should avoid diluting the Money Bomb name. The November 30th idea was also a bad one, I see this as being much worse.
I think a big moneybomb is a good idea once a month on around the 10th of the month to try to top our previous record.
Holding a second one would only delay the money people would have donated anyway, and delays aren't good. I think we should do a two-day moneybomb in January after we WIN the NH primary! All the "he can't win" fence sitters will jump on board and donate for the first time! It'll be huge!
If you don't want to donate on that day..then don't.
...But do not come to the "December 31st Donations" sub-forum and talk down about the project.
The purpose of this project is to bring money in. Period. There is NOTHING wrong with that.
Take your negative BS elsewhere.
This will be like the Rudys Reading List....small, fun , and something for people to look forward to.

You need to get thicker skin. This is not about just you and your idea, this is about organizing for this campaign, so you need to accept constructive criticism, or dont put your ideas out there in the first place.

The Obama bin Clinton and Rudy McRomneysonabee fiends are spinning our Tea Party success (DIGG) with the idea that we planned to reach $10 mil and didn't... So let's not give them any excuses next time! Let's set a chain of small goals we can reach one by one, and keep it realistic!
I think the goal of this final-day moneybomb should be to beat Romney's Q1 record of $21,084,634. We just passed $18.3 mil for Q4, so would need a $2,784,634 moneybomb on Dec 31st to do that, just below the proposed 28,000 * $100, and that number will drop significantly by then. This will mean we've raised more money than any other Republican in any quarter, and unlike our opponents we didn't have to sell our souls to the devil to do it!
If and when we reach that goal, we'll announce the next milestone goal, which is to beat the $21,343,291 Obama raised in Q3. If we come a little short, we'll have plenty of good excuses, including the money that was donated to unofficial venues like the blimp!
[If a miracle takes place and we're doing super-good, we can then raise the bar to $25,797,722 (Obama in Q1), $27,021,358 (Clinton in Q2), $27,859,861 (Clinton in Q3), $33,120,440 (Obama in Q2), and $36,054,569 (Clinton in Q1)... But that's looking too far ahead, we'll beat those higher numbers in Q1 of 2008!]

I've also seen suggestions for a money bomb on the 1st and on the 3rd.
Most of my friends are likely to be sober on the 31st and passed out until the 2nd, so I like this New Year's Eve one, better.
Having a money bomb on the 3rd would give good reports no matter what results in Iowa. Something to think on.
Maybe someone said this already....but why not something like "Watch the Ball drop, Watch the RonPaul-o-meter rise"
We could have a flash paul-o-meter rising up to $20M total.
The revolution of the electric light then and the revolution of mass donations from ordinary citizens made possible by the internet now. Now if we had only been using the word "revolution" in the campaign. Wait a minute!

Since the goal of the 31st fund raiser is to get the fourth quarter fund over the 20 million mark and not try and set a new one day record, why not have it over the two day period of the 30th and 31st? I have already made my pledge for the 31st but I want to make sure that I donate in this quarter.
