Why would the winning side agree to a cease fire?
To give your enemy the chance to rebuild/reload?
Russia fell for that twice with the Minsk Agreements.
Trump doesn't know or care about details like that.

Your right, not only did Russia fell for the Minsk Agreements but that ceasefire for which Russia agreed with Turkey for Syria.Russia fell for that twice with the Minsk Agreements.

Yes, the outcome will be the same, no matter how many are killed.
Define win. Putin said he wanted Donbass and Crimea. If he gets that and more, then a ceasefire on current lines might make sense.
Russia was always going to win and get the territory they wanted. Ukraine never had a chance. All those people died for nothing.

The way it stands now Russia has the negotiating upper hand. They can always take the position that negotiations can take place anytime the west wants them, but offensive operations will continue. Better hurry before anymore of Ukraine is annexed.
Because they're content with the land they have already conquered and would be able to make use of the ceasefire to strengthen their position there and to acclimate the inhabitants of these areas to their new status as Russians.

I would say a war in the middle east is likely in the coming spring.
