Florida is always going to be a messed up state. It attracts the crazy from everywhere. I still like it here, won't be going back.

You are never getting all you want in this country ever again. FL right now is as good as it gets.

In terms of government, this isn't true. Many other states have lower taxes and more freedom than Florida.

That being said I grew up in Florida and choose to live here and agree that when weather and beaches are factored in, it is one of, if not, the best state in the union. But I'm not going to delude myself into thinking it's by far the most free because it isn't.

Don't doubt for a second that people from California will retain their destructive political opinions, votes and actions. They have zero awareness that their politics destroy their communities.

Meh, they are so outnumbered in FL it doesn't matter. There are zero democrats that hold statewide office. Registered republicans outnumber registered democrats by one million. Heck, DeSantis won Miami-Dade county, which would have been uheard of in the past.

That can change on a dime. Look how close both DeSantis and Rick Scott were when they won their most recent respective seats.

As I keep telling my friends in the RPOF, that is a vanity metric and means nothing.

I agree it has indeed been trending Republican and likely the Dems are out of the game for a while, probably the rest of the decade at least. But it can and will eventually change back more than likely.

But the problem when one becomes a Republican ghetto is that you have squishy Dems start to run as Republicans because it's the only way they can get elected, and we have had that for a while down here. This happens in TN and other parts of the South including and especially Florida. The Senate President is the biggest left-leaning RINO there is, and she is from Jersey which explains everything. Should could be Krispy Kreme's sister.

I don't think it will ever change back, because we are seeing an outbound migration of liberals and influx of conservatives. You have liberals actively telling people not to move to Florida because it's some backwards hellhole now. Reality is the opposite, other than a Trump flag here and there I would never know anyone's politics, nobody ever discusses it. Granted my county is so heavily GOP, it's probably just assumed I am as well. But my point is that if you keep it to yourself nobody will ever bother you. Florida is a nice state to live in, my family is very happy here. In fact more are inbound soon.

And unfortunately, the GOP establishment and Trump will support those RINO-Democrats in primaries...
