My feeling as a newer FL resident is that it is going to pass. I think it should, but am with the side that wants some solid enforcement of where you can do it so I can walk the streets without smelling nasty weed.

It's not nasty, it's no different than smelling a camp fire. The odor comes from terpenes. Cannabis terpene profiles have the same terpenes as any other plants, such as pine trees, oregano, rosemary, lavender, citrus, etc.. you won't find a cannabis terpene that doesn't exist in one of those plants. They are just in larger quantities in many cases. They actually have health benefits, that's one of the medicinal benefits of using cannabis is ingesting the terpenes.

I like the smell of campfires, some people don't. I like the smell of weed, you don't. I like the smell of people smoking cigarettes, but I'm not particularly fond of the old, stagnant smell of cigarettes that you would smell in, say an older hotel or the jacket of somebody who smokes cigarettes. But it doesn't upset me. Should they make camp fires illegal because some people don't like the smell? I'm down at the beach or in the mountains near a campground, I smell camp fires.

Oh but the camp fire is on private property.. well, actually most are on state or federal property.. but I'll let that slide. Some people are allergic to perfume, some people don't like the smell of perfume. Should it be legal or illegal?

I honestly think the reason some people don't like the smell of cannabis is because they get upset other people are misbehaving, or having fun, or something, and they aren't? They associate that feeling with the smell. You should try going into a legal cannabis store sometime when you are in a good mood and try and "reset" that emotion. It will make your life a lot more tolerable. Or maybe you know somebody who likes to smoke weed. Ask them to hang out with them when they are smoking sometime, and put on a good comedy movie or something.

More like pine, citrus, lavender and rosemary.. with a touch of skunk (they use skunk odor in many expensive perfumes, in small amounts, gives it a musky scent)

As a person with a very sensitive sense of smell I haven't ever been around any pot smoke that smelled like cat piss. I have smelled some stuff called skunk weed but I would not smoke it. I don't smoke it if it makes me cough on the first hit. Some people think that if it makes you cough that means it is good. I think it means that your body is saying I don't want this it is hurting me...A lot of people are kinda hell bent on destroying themselves.

I get it though. I didn't realize how bad cigarettes stunk until I pretty much stopped smoking them. I still enjoy one every now-and-then but I'd have to be somewhere I could shower when I'm done or at least not going out in public afterwards.

Cigarette smoke sticks to walls, curtains, carpet, etc, for YEARS.. you can tell by going into any older hotel.

Cannabis smoke clears out in 20 minutes. You can literally hotbox a small room or closet for months, the smell is always gone the next day.

So technically, it is healthier, but I would recommend a method of ingestion that prevents the cough. This might be taking smaller hits off the joint, using a water filtration system like a bong (and taking smaller hits), or making a concentrate to use on a dab rig and taking small dab hits.

I think if you cough, it may be due to irritation and it is possible that the irritation combined with the coughing might cause the THC to get into your system more quickly. That is another reason why people like the cough. I would not recommend that, but if it happens from time to time it's probably ok.

I smell mold on a lot of cannabis type products. I won't smoke it if it smells like mold. I have noticed the smell of mold on pot for about 25 years I quit smoking it for a long time because of it. I think a lot of people don't know what mold smells like on cannabis Like I said I have smelled a lot of mold I have walked into stores that are opening the jar for someone else and I am not that close to the jar and smell the mold on it. Typically the better the quality, the more oils are in the plant, less water and it tends to be easier to dry and cure without molding, but I have definitely smelled mold in batches before that weren't dried and cured properly.

The initial cough typically isn't from the mold, it is usually because it has more oils in it and it is higher quality.. it causes more of a "stinging" that leads to a cough. But if you are coughing afterward, like 10 minutes or more later and it is more of a tingling/tickling sensation rather than a stinging sensation in the lungs I think that would be a sign of mold or something with the drying process. I have experienced that before, I will be smoking a batch and there is no cough or sting initially, but later on my lungs feel tickly/tingly and I cough.. but it is rare in my neck of the woods.
