The soviet union reverse engineered The B-29 (tu4) with only four examples. It isn't surprising that Iran could do the same with captured UAVs. Key to drone operation is navigation. There are currently four GPS type systems available, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou.

I'm sure meddling in their affairs played some sort of significant role in all this.

Yah really, I think it's complete BS.

Just Izraeli propaganda to try and justify their next genocide.

Yeah....that's explained in the video. They were forced to start relying on drones because, after being a major purchaser of U.S. fighter jets under the Shah, they were cut off from spare parts by U.S. sanctions. Then the U.S. sicked Iraq on them and gave Iraq the means to shoot down their fighters so they started using cheap, basically toy, remote aircraft. Finally by doing so many drone flights over Iran, the U.S. and Israel took the risk of accidental technology transfer by their more sophisticated drones being shot down, or in one case captured.

Why would you say that? The facts in the video are indisputable and not "propaganda" and these facts coming out in no way help Israel. It's indisputable that Iran captured a supposedly "stealthy" U.S. drone when Obama was president. I always thought China helped Iran do that but it seems they did it on their own. One can't deny the fact that Russia has bought and used thousands of Iranian drones. That feat itself is impressive. When is the last time you've heard of a third world country selling arms to a superpower? The "propaganda" is that the people in these countries that we look down on are stupid and can't figure out how to make a remote controlled aircraft with a camara and a computer on it. And yet the Turks have now, on their own, built a stealth aircraft that rivals the U.S. F-35. This news doesn't help Israel because it shows that it would be impossible to just bomb Iran into submission the way we bombed Iraq into submission. Israel hasn't even been able to bomb Hamas into submission. The era of U.S. / Israel invincibility is over.

But here's something else to consider. Biden said the 2nd amended as a balance against tyranical government is made irrelevant because you need an F16 to take on a government. Well....no you don't. On the modern battlefield drones are doing the jobs that were once reserved for military aircraft including recon (obviously), resupply (ammo, food packs, water, medicine, anything small), and taking out hardened tragets including tanks. Ukraine may not be the best example because, even though they've just received F16 (and shot down one of their own by accident with a Patriot missle) they've had sophisticated fighter jets and air defense the entire time. But the rebels in Myanmar only have drones for their air power, mostly made for 3D printers believe it or not, and they've been holding back an modern tyranical government that has jet fighters, tanks and ground attack aircraft. 3D printed drones and 3D printed guns. That's even more amazing to me than what Iran has done.

I didn't take it the same way. I understood him to mean that the fact that Iran is a superpower is being used for bs propaganda purposes. I can't watch the vid right this sec but the thumbnail is obviously fear porn about attacking Israel.

I mean... everyone who wasn't knowingly recreating Patterns of Force from the original Star Trek series for the last 4 years already knew this. Nothing Biden has said for the last 20 years has dignified a resposne. Any line of questioning about anything relating to the Biden administration just isn't worth our time - leftists sure as hell have forgotten the man exists, and just like everything else that has happened in the last 5 years, as long as any questioning we do doesn't contain summary execution by hanging in its flowchart of possibilities, it's just not worth it to talk about.

Fair enough. But it just so happens that the biggest use of Iran's drone's so far has been against Israel. And yes it was in retaliation to a strike from Israel. That and Russia's use of Iran's drones against Ukraine. And......Israel isn't the U.S. I know people seem to forget that especially in this country.

You are, of course, right. But Biden isn't the only one for gun control to make that argument. Back in the 1990s when I was for gun control I made that argument. It's a stupid argument but a lot of people just haven't thought these things through. The other part of it is, I wonder how many on the pro 2A side have stopped to think "Yeah I've got 20 guns...but maybe I need a few really capable drones and the ability to manufacture and/or repair them too?" Just a thought.

LOL the perfect response just occurred to me:
"Ok smart guy then tell me why the US military has infantry outnumbering fighter jets by over 4 to 1"

Well I never thought about that, but doing a Google search I see we've got about 3,400 fighter jets and 68,000 infantry so that's more like 20 to 1. I think most people would reflexively say "Because figher jets are just so expensive." But I hear you. It's rock paper scissors. At the end of a bombing run those fighter jets have to land somewhere. If the base gets overrun they're screwed. That's how the Chaddians beat the Lybians using "technicals" (Toyota trucks with machine guns mounted on the back) without having an air force. I'm sure you already know all of that. Just sticking it in for posterity.

That has literally never been a consideration. The last 70 years is rife with examples of aerospace companies going to the US military saying "Sure you can have that whizbang new gadget but our offering gets you 90% of the capability for 40% of the price" and getting kicked to the curb.
