Hmm.....no, I'm pretty sure it was Cillizza. I remember it very well overall. The evidence is of course very scant now for obvious reasons but I'm 99% it was Cillizza. My own post from back then at the link above calls out Tucker and Cillizza specifically even and that was only a few years after, instead of 17 years after. Ironically, some handles in that thread are posting in this thread now....

Sure, Jesus sat with sinners, and he rebuked the righteous, but the gospels distinguish between the sinners and the righteous. Jesus said of the very righteous people which he rebuked: "For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." Twenty-five-year-old Imane Khalif was cleared to compete at the 2024 Olympics having earlier failed an unspecified testosterone level test.

The contest Thursday between the mismatched pugilists shone fresh light on the controversy about athletes with abnormally high testosterone levels or other male characteristics being allowed to enter women’s sporting categories.

Angela Carini was seen going to her corner twice during the women’s category 66kg clash, once to get her headgear tightened after taking a punch to the face and the other to abandon the bout after 46 seconds.

Speaking after the match, the heartbroken Italian told Italy’s ASNA: “I’m used to suffering. I’ve never taken a punch like that, it’s impossible to continue. I’m nobody to say it’s illegal.

“I got into the ring to fight. But I didn’t feel like it anymore after the first minute. I started to feel a strong pain in my nose. I didn’t give up, but a punch hurt too much and so I said enough. I’m leaving with my head held high.”

What continues to baffle me is that this is not some great mystery, I mean, all these women boxers have to train in boxing gyms, so they surely know what it's like to spar with a guy since guys will spar women in the gym, subject to some etiquette, of course. Because female boxers are rare, I assume that many women boxers probably have mostly guys as sparring partners while training. So it's not like it's some grand mystery, here, a reporter could just walk up and ask any one of them, "do you think you can go toe-to-toe with a guy who is similarly ranked in your weight-class?" No female boxer is going to say yes to that, they all know they can't go toe-to-toe with a guy with the same stats. I don't know what the handicap would have to be, but it'd be a lot. Women just don't have the same amount of type-II muscle fibers, bulk musculature, bone structure and BMI (even with training, even in the same weight-class) and trauma-tolerance as men... not even close. M2F boxers in female boxing is a tragedy waiting to happen and there's no doubt that female boxers know this...

Algerian Olympic “female” boxer Imane Khalif is not female, according to the International Boxing Association (IBA). He’s a guy. He’s a guy with elevated levels of testosterone and XY chromosomes, and, if you believe in science, the XY chromosomes mark the end of the argument.

Khalif is a guy.

And, now, to the eternal shame of the Olympics, this man was allowed to compete against a woman in the boxing competition, which is not only insane, it is an outright act of cruelty.

Despite what you might see in woke movies, women have almost zero chance in fights against men. Weight class has zero to do with it. Men are much, much stronger than women, which is why civilization has separated men’s and women’s sports since time began. Men competing against women is simply … cheating. But what happened at the Olympics is even worse.

In front of the whole world, a man was allowed to beat on a woman for 46 seconds, beat on her until he had knocked her headgear loose, until she landed on her knees, crying in frustration as her lifelong dream was shattered through an intolerable injustice.

Normal People know this trans madness is nothing more than the left normalizing what is either a mental illness or a sexual fetish, but, once your ideology demands you buy into the absurdity that men can magically transform into women, you cannot draw a line anywhere, not even at allowing a man to batter a woman and steal her Olympic glory. The moment you draw a line, the moment you use the word “but,” your ideology collapses.

If you say, Women can become men, but we can’t allow a trans woman in a boxing ring with a woman-woman, the whole concept crumbles.

A man can either become a woman, or he can’t, and if you say he can, you cannot draw a line anywhere — not even at the boxing ring.

Why shouldn’t this mentally ill man be allowed in women’s bathrooms and locker rooms? He’s a woman!

I can't help but wonder how Angela Carini would have performed against Karina Ibragimova, Natalia Shadrina, Kellie Harrington or Amy Broadhurst - all of whom defeated Khelif. Carini has only had 5 fights.

Another reason to be cautious of Wikipedia. Carini's Wiki entry listed her at 5 total fights - then she became hot news because she'd be fighting Khelif and her wiki entry was suddenly updated from 5 to 108 fights.

Imane Khelif is supposedly not transgender. It's been reported that she has a disorder of sex development that had her develop with a female physiology despite having XY chromosomes. That's accompanied by a condition called Hyperandrogenism that results in elevated testosterone levels. Caster Semenya, who won Olympic gold in the 2012 Olympics, also has it.

My understanding is that the Olympic "gender" test is based upon testosterone levels, despite it being recognized that there are overlaps between testosterone levels in males and females - so it's not the most reliable of tests. A better test for someone claiming to be female would be to determine whether the individual was born with a prostate, ovaries, and/or uterus. For some reason, the Olympics doesn't do that testing.

The IBA this week confirmed Khelif was also tested at the previous year’s World Championships, adding she had not undergone “a testosterone examination” but was “subject to a separate and recognized test, whereby the specifics remain confidential”

... so I suppose that could have been a physiology check, but who really knows?

If an individual was born without a prostate but possesses a uterus and/or ovaries (even if they have XY chromosomes), I'd being inclined to say that they're female. I don't know for certain whether Imane Khelif meets that requirement. Does anyone here on the message board know?

Maybe intersex individuals ought to be excluded from competing in female sports. Maybe sports ought to be segregated by some other attribute (like muscle and/or bone mass). But it's difficult for me to say that someone is male when they've been born with a female physiology instead of a male physiology (which we apparently don't know for certain about Imane Khelif; except that she was identified as having female physiology when she was born).

But, regardless of all that, my bottom line with respect to "gender" dysphoria is that you don't become sexually female just because you've transitioned your "appearance, norms, behaviors and roles" to be more feminine than masculine on the gender spectrum. I'm almost positive, for instance, that Lia Thomas was born with a prostate - and thus is male in perpetuity.
