I feel a little better that I didn't know him, but damn. Still hits too close to home.A former Pennsylvania volunteer fire chief was identified as the victim killed by a sniper who shot and wounded former President Donald Trump.
Corey Comperatore, 50, who served as the fire chief for Buffalo Township, was shot and killed by Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, at a rally for Trump that left the former president and two others injured on Sunday, local WPXI reports.
Comperatore’s sister, Dawn Comperatore Schafer, said her brother died while trying to protect his daughter when gunfire rang out during Trump’s speech.
“The hatred for one man took the life of the one man we loved the most. He was a hero that shielded his daughters,” she wrote on Facebook.
“His wife and girls just lived through the unthinkable and unimaginable,” she added.
I'd expect these folks to be honored at the RNC convention. And tons of fundraising for them.

With regards to event, I agree with Elon, either it was incompetence or deliberate. Also confused by the "all clear" so soon, but perhaps that was just to move to next protocol action (e.g. move to transport).
But it's great that someone posted this Pulp Fiction video in this thread, as it relates to the point I want to make about repentance.
I think I have a thread on here still about how the story of Jules and Vincent is a great parable of repentance. Long story short, Jules got the message, repents and lives, Vincent did not get the message, remains defiant and dies on a toilet.
The message from God to America is that He has removed our protection. We are not under His grace and nationally (this is different than personally) we need to repent.
However, our leaders never yield, no matter how many signs He sends our way to humble us, the biggest ones I would say would be 9/11 and Covid.
Now even Trump, who repeatedly claims faith in God and Christ does not do any of these things. He defiantly pumps his fists while someone in the crowd took his bullet. He continues to pander to Christian nationalists and claims He will personally "fight evil" and "defend Christianity" as if the true church is something so pathetic and weak that it requires Trump to save it.
Trump assasinated Qasem Solemani, a man more righteous than him. Did he even repent of that? No. Instead he continues to fuel these messianic delusions among evangelical Israeli boot-licking morons that he is going to bring in the millenial kingdom Mohammed style by conquering all the baddies.

That building may have been the responsibility of local LE. I could imagine they checked out the building before the event, but didn't position anyone on that roof.
