The neocons are finally getting their war with Iran. Hope they're grateful to Israel for the excuse. And I hope they say thank you while there's still an Israel to thank.

The war is going to back fire on NeoCons that wanted it.
Its going to bite them in the behind.

    Iran today isn't Today's Iraq.

They waited several years to late.

So according to the un elected Prime Minster of UK.
Iran has no right to respond after the Israelis had attacked and killed several people on the Iranian embassy in Syria.

Here we go. Is this going to be the big one? Will Biden get the US involved?

I saw a report that US and UK jets are currently firing on Iranian drones, but the link doesn't look reputable.

That was also reported on Fox News so I'd guess it's legit.

Looks like almost everything fired was shot down. It almost seems like this was a way for Iran to save face about their embassy getting attacked. They announce an attack and send some slow movers that they know will get intercepted.

Could very well be. After Sulimani was assassinated, Iran "attacked" a U.S. base in a way that caused no casualties. On the flip side I've heard the argument that Iran was using cheap drones to draw down Israel's Iron Dome interceptors.

This was an obvious token, face-saving response by Iran.

They probably gain from drawing down air defense resources and observing the capabilities of their response.

I was reading Citizen Free Press, an obvious zionist mouthpiece, post Ukrainian style headlines to the effect of how zero Iranian drones or missiles entered Israeli airspace.

We know that to be a lie.

Iran has begun an airborne attack against Israel. President Biden is being regularly updated on the situation by his national security team and will meet with them this afternoon at the White House. His team is in constant communication with Israeli officials as well as other partners and allies. This attack is likely to unfold over a number of hours. President Biden has been clear: our support for Israel’s security is ironclad. The United States will stand with the people of Israel and support their defense against these threats from Iran.

I'd be surprised if Iran was able to legitimately inflict any harm on any nation actually capable of defending themselves.

But regardless, Izrael has been dying for an excuse to attack Iran, essentially the only "hostile" nation left in the Middle East.

I disagree. They have some serious cruise missles. Enough at once could overwhelm Israel's air defenses.

This seems more like a measured response designed to avoid further escalation.

I had to look up the difference:

According to the Federation of American Scientists, a ballistic missile is one that has a ballistic trajectory over most of its flight path. What that means is that once the missile burns up the fuel that propels it, the missile keeps moving, the same way that a bullet does after it's been fired out of a gun. Once the fuel is gone, the missile's direction can't be altered. It follows a path determined by the speed of its launch and the force of gravity trying to pull it back toward the Earth's surface. Eventually, gravity guides the missile — and its payload, which might be an explosive, a chemical or biological weapon, or a nuclear device — down toward its target.

Ballistic missiles are different than cruise missiles. Cruise missiles are self-propelled for the majority of their time in the air, flying in a relatively straight line and at lower altitudes thanks to a rocket propellant. Think of a ballistic missile's flight path as a large arc up and back down again, while that of a cruise missile — fired from a warship, for instance — is closer to a straight line.

A slight correction: They have been dying to get an excuse to have the United States attack Iran.
