The most corrupt mayor in America?

Here's a story I've been following via AJW for several months now.

It involves the mayor of an Illinois township (because of course it does - where else but one of the most corrupt states in the union?) who is a raging narcissist (among other things, she has referred to herself as a "Super Mayor") and who indulges in cartoonish levels of blatant "in your face" corruption.

She has so far managed somehow to avoid any consequences, though that may be changing now that her brazen shenanigans are starting to get national attention.

I'm pretty jaded when it comes to this kind of thing, but even I am shocked at how far she's been able to get with so little serious pushback. There's always some minimal level of corruption to be expected at all levels of government, from local to federal - it's just the nature of the beast - but this situation is enough to make me wonder if that minimal level might be much higher than even my admittedly cynical expectations led me to suspect. I mean, if she were just more low-key and less brazen about it, she could probably get away with it indefinitely, if the lack of any significant repercussions in this case (so far) is any indication.

Anyway, I'm posting the videos AJW has done on this so far, and I will try to update the thread with any future videos, news items, or other updates as they become available (and you are invited to do so, as well, if you come across any).

"I'd like to thank the residents for standing with their mayor, that you elected, by 82% of the vote."

So even if it had been deemed constitutional, she would have defeated the recall efforts.

This is probably the dumbest voting populace in America.

I don't think there's a way out for this town in Illinois except to dissolve the city. $7 million in debt at the time of one of those videos and it doesn't look like it's a thriving center of economic growth.

So even if it had been deemed constitutional, she would have defeated the recall efforts.
