At which point will Americans realize that creating an unaccountable institution that is able to pass its liability on to tax-payers is immoral and attracts sociopaths?

Yea well what is your appreciation helping? This video has under 2000 views. Look someone is actually trying to stand up why isn't Ted Cruise and Rand on board with this filibuster? They should be there too.

This is not just falling on deaf ears it is being ignored all together. I think I am going to have to send him a donation and write my senate critters and tell them they have to get behind Mr Lee if they want my support.

Has anyone posted this to their social media sites where they are members? Where is the twitter link?

I think there's a blackout on this fight

I believe Rand Paul is there, but it seems to me that there is no coverage of what's going on! Note that we are only seeing Mike Lee's filibuster because he personally posted it on youtube, and Matt Collins subsequently posted it on this forum.

I suspect there's a black-out in order to discourage the massive protests that should be taking place.

Last week, there were sparse mentions that Rand Paul had plans to tie up and prevent this vote for as long as he could. I wanted to post a thread about it, but was looking for more reliable sources - they mostly seemed to be leftish ones - why aren't more "conservative" sources talking about it? [problem for Trump?] I expected there would be a lot of interest in the fight, but searching for updates during the weekend, I've seen nothing new. (Except maybe they've done the cloture thing last night?) Looks like there’s a blackout on mentions of the fight taking place.

One of you, with a twitter account (I don’t have one) would need to check Rand’s X account for updates.

    for those who don’t know - if you have not signed up to an account with X, you can only see tweets;

    1) that were posted before Musk changed the rule (old ones)
    2) by clicking on a link that’s been posted by someone else who actually has an account - and even then you can’t view any of the replies the tweet gets
    3) that have been “pinned" by the owner of the account
….You can't view replies or do any kind of searches

Examples of mentions from last week:

from X Feb 8: "I'll object to anything speeding up this rotten foreign spending bill's passage." https://twitter.com/RandPaul/status/1755633694021480873

Apparently Rand Paul did an interview on CNN last week?
"I think we should stay here as long as it takes, if it takes a week or a month, I'll force them to stay here to discuss why they think the border of Ukraine is more important than the US border." https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...ge/ar-BB1i29Dn

He did an interview with Larry Kudlow also. I think it’s on X.

    Feb 9:
Rand Paul slams McConnell’s ‘outrageous’ support for standalone foreign aid bill

...Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) slammed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) Friday what he called his “outrageous” support for the Plan B foreign aid bill proposed after striping out border security provisions.

He specifically knocked his Senate colleagues for focusing on providing additional aid to Ukraine and Israel amid their ongoing wars, instead of addressing the border crisis.

“It’s criminal neglect for Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden to get together to send $100 billion overseas to fix someone else’s border before addressing our border,” Paul said Friday in an interview with Fox Business’s Larry Kudlow, calling the idea “outrageous.”

Paul hit back on Biden’s comments that not providing aid to Ukraine was “neglect,” saying it is reprehensible to negotiate a deal to fund foreign government’s militaries without resolving the issue of the U.S.-Mexico border.

In a 64-19 vote Friday evening, the Senate proceeded with the bill whose border provisions were stripped by Schumer (D-N.Y.) after only a handful of GOP senators voted for the original bipartisan package.

Paul pledged to delay votes on a $95.3 billion bill Friday after branding the legislation “rotten.” In response, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) called him a “peckerhead” for forcing colleagues to through the procedural steps Friday night and into the Super Bowl weekend in order to pass the funding package. [See?! he's still retarded!]

“We have an emergency, we have an invasion,” Paul said in Friday’s interview, highlighted by Mediaite. “We have 700,000 people who came across in the last two months, and they’re willing just to punt on that. You know, they put forward a fake proposal, it wasn’t any good. We shot it down.”

“But that doesn’t mean we’re ready to give up on it. Many of us want to fight,” he argued. “Thirty-two of us out of 48, three-fourths of us, said we wanted to keep fighting, and wanted to actually fix the border before we ship $100 billion of our money overseas.”...

Part of the reason it's falling on deaf ears is because Rand (and Massie, and I assume Senator Lee here) have made it about the money and/or constitution, while calling the war a "sympathetic cause", or "heroic".

As long as its for a "good cause" people don't care about money or the constitution.

The sad thing is it's not even remotely a good cause, it's literally funding genocidal nazi's but exactly noone in the public sphere is pointing that part out.

Funding bill contains tool to impeach Trump if he ends funding as President!

    "hidden impeachment clause"

    from JD Vance:
I just sent the below memo to every one of my Republican colleagues in Congress.

Buried in the bill’s text is an impeachment time bomb for the next Trump presidency if he tries to stop funding the war in Ukraine.

We must vote against this disastrous bill.
    https://twitter.com/JDVance1/status/1757053334781890703
...If President Trump were to withdraw from or pause financial support for the war in Ukraine in order to bring the conflict to a peaceful conclusion, “over the objections of career experts,” it would amount to the same fake violation of budget law from the first impeachment, under markedly similar facts and circumstances.

Partisan Democrats would seize on the opportunity to impeach him once again. The Washington Post has reported that tying President Trump’s hands on foreign policy is very much top of mind for Biden administration officials, who are openly boasting about their plans.8 The background quote is damning:

Not incidentally, a U.S. official said, the hope is that the long-term promise — again assuming congressional buy-in — will also “future-proof” aid for Ukraine against the possibility that former president Donald Trump wins his reelection bid.

Conclusion: The supplemental represents an attempt by the foreign policy blob/deep state to stop President Trump from pursuing his desired policy, and if he does so anyways, to provide grounds to impeach him and undermine his administration. All Republicans should oppose its passage.

    Rand: The filibuster continues tonight!

This foreign aid bill threatens the fiscal solvency of our country. I think it, along with so much of the rest of the spending, is dragging America down and threatening a day of destruction. The filibuster continues tonight!

No foreign aid at this point is ever going to be a good enough cause to add to the debt and pay interest on it with dollars from taxpayers. That class would be pretty easy to teach but I dont suspect it would matter since the avg american is communist , retarded or both.

“These are enormously high stakes of the national security package. Our security, our values, our democracy. It’s a down payment for the survival of Western democracy and the survival of Western values,” Schumer said on Monday after rare back-to-back Saturday and Sunday Senate sessions to work on the bill.
Schmuer uses "The Western Values are in danger"Defense to push the bill.
