The whole narrative is absurd on its face - at the same time the USA was both founded on White supremacy, slavery, and genocide, yet always meant to be a place that infinity Africans, Indians, and South Americans could come for a "better life"? - Unknown

Dang. When you asked me not to compile a thread of your favorite songs, I didn't know that it was because you wanted to do it yourself.

Our culture is trash. We've humiliated ourselves. It all deserves to collapse. No one will shed a tear for anything this society created after 1960.

The world will be a better place when all of this garbage is swept into the dust bin of history. I can only hope that the passing of this so-called "culture" can pass as ignominiously as did the fall of Roman society.

    What a travesty we've become.

LOL - I thought about that when I posted this.

Be my guest, if you feel like wading through that sewerage to find the worst of the worst, post 'em.

White people have no culture, don't you know that?

It's far gone, but we can still turn this around.

We have to, we must, turn it around.

Do you want that vile bilge in the OP to be the requiem of 5000 years of triumph, starting at bronze implements to space travel?

I refuse, even if I am the last man raging against the dying of the light.

Out of rep - someone back me up...

Yeah, I don't know my brother. I think the West just... ran out of steam. We got too fat, happy and comfortable and we forgot how we got here. Most of the past 2 generations have almost no conception of what it took to build this radiant, magnificent civilization, and too many of them seem quite contented to just let it all slip beneath the waves.

Seems like there are some folks in Central and South America who are willing to pick up the baton. Maybe that's where the light of liberty goes next?

    Also - lovely piece.

I know this one is a bit played, but it's very nice even so, in my opinion:

Weak men making hard times right under our noses my brother.

If "Milie - ism" takes hold, I'll meet you in Patagonia.

I don't know what will happen, but I will keep on doing everything I can to try and turn this shipwreck around, even though I get so damn tired sometimes.

And Canon in D cannot be overplayed.

It is as glorious as it was when it was composed over 3 centuries ago.

That is ours, and the world had never seen anything like that before, along with a billion other similar accomplishments.

It deserves protection, nurturing, promotion and respect.

I'm too damned old to move that far away, frankly. I'll stay here and fight with ya! You'd be welcome here down in the Appalachian mountains - we have plenty of room, my man!

This is NOT “our culture.” It is not even “black culture.” This is not something that grew organically out of the dreams, aspirations and proclivities of “the people” concerned. This was artificially created by manipulation, deceit and outright brute force and then superimposed above our actual culture. As an artificial entity it cannot survive on its own. Remove the coercive, deceitful force that created it and has been nurturing it since and it shrivels up and dies. Once it dies off, our true underlying culture is again free to prosper and grow.

Granted. But as the youth become saturated in it, they will carry it forward and then for all intents and purposes it will have become our culture.

And frankly, there's everything else to go along with it... without being too much of a get-off-my-lawn type of old man - our movies are garbage. Hollywood hasn't had an original idea in at least 2 decades. Television (does anyone even actually watch TV anymore??) is nauseating. Music is mostly like this garbage these days. Almost everything about our cultural milieu is just sexed up, sugared up/coked up gyrations hastening God's judgment. Just wait 'til Sunday evening. It'll be a damned Bacchanal.

If NH goes stupid, I may head to WV.

Spent a few weeks down that way this summer.

    Pretty countryside.

There was a story I posted a week or so ago, about some Zoomer grammar school teacher that could just not figure why her 4th graders demanded this song for music time.

Made me smile and gave me some hope.

It always darkest before the dawn my brother, as long as we remain upright and taking nourishment, there is hope, and this is coming from one the most hard bitten cynical, grouchy old $#@!s you could ever run across.

There is still beauty, still good music being played, there is still something worth saving and it's up to us, as men, to promote it, nurture it and protect it.

(Not to mention the fact that I am just stone in love with that blond bass fiddle player, she's the oldest and her name is Lindsay .)

    Their voices harmonize almost perfectly.

Have you ever heard of The Isaacs? I saw them last year in Hershey PA as an opening act for Reba. They're very similar...

I just bought a house on a couple of acres here in Western Maryland, but I'm still looking for a few acres over in WV, which is literally a 5 minute drive from where I live. I have personal reasons for being here in MD, but I'm looking for my own personal redoubt.

    You near Cumberland or Frostburg?

I'm heading down to the Western Maryland RR once they get #1309 up and running again.

We'll have to meet up and knock back a bourbon or three.

This is the Christian culture of America that we dare not be polluted by immigrants from other less promiscuous and profanity addicted societies.
There is nothing to fear from globalism, free trade and a single worldwide currency, but a globalism where free trade is competitively subsidized by each nation, a continuous trade war is dictated by the WTO, and the single currency is pure fiat, fear is justified. That type of globalism is destined to collapse into economic despair, inflationism and protectionism and managed by resurgent militant nationalism.

Yes! I'm near to both of those places (I don't really disclose exact locations online, but both of those towns are very accessible to me)!

Give me a shout and we can coordinate, dude, it would be great to get together in person!

    No no, neither do I.

Would be a blast to see if we can drag @osan and @phill4paul and @cjm along as well.

Will keep that in mind as repairs on 1309 progress.

No, this is the polluted poison that has taken it's place, because of distractions, laziness, apathy and a million other excuses.

Closing the border and deporting the wretched refuse is essential to getting our house in order.

    Neither of those are rap..

I agree, they aren't. Too much singing, too much melody. Unlike rap, those are actual music.

Rap is cultural appropriation. It was stolen from 1960s-1970s country music.

That's right. Hiphop was originally invented by rednecks.

I'm not that far from either (213 to Frostburg), though I confess I'm no longer a big fan of road trips. That said, and most contradictorily, I am so stressed up at the moment I told Bibi we should sell the farm, get a small RV, grab the dogs and cats and hoist our FTW flag to see those bits of America we've yet to see.
