I assume there are only a handful from that list that are realistically viable for winning the party nomination. Any ideas who they are? I only recognize one name in that list and that's mostly because he's really active on X/Twitter.

Thanks OB. I strongly dislike all encompassing meta threads. They are terrible vehicles for organizing information in logical groupings by topic for browsing. Do you have any sense of which candidates are most likely to achieve a competitive level of support with the party? Or that have real campaigns (financing, field support, advertising/marketing efforts, etc.)? I imagine some of these candidates just threw a hat in the ring without any real plan, organization or serious thought about competing/winning.

If the LP were smart (they aren't unfortunately), they would run an excellent and credible candidate that could self-fund and that candidate would simply hang out in swing states and message farther to the right than the GOP and farther to the left than the DNC. The LP would gain immense political power that way. But that's too much to ask.

They have their virtues (especially given the limitations of vBulletin's search functionality) - and it's not like there's an exclusive "either/or" choice to be made between "generality only" and "particularity only". (Hammers are good for things screwdrivers are not well suited to do, and vice versa.) In this specific instance, for example, there are multiple separate and independent threads for the more notable candidates such as Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, RFK Jr., et al. - some of which are linked to in the OP and subsequent posts of the "POTUS 2024 declared candidates" thread. Without such a thread, some of the not-so-notable (but perhaps nevertheless interesting) candidates are apt to be overlooked altogether - and such threads are also good when a broad overview is desired (especially given that one can't really look for something one doesn't even know might be there to be looked for).

I haven't followed things closely. My familiarity is limited to the things I happen to see on Twitter and the like. Based on that, the broad sense I get is that the ones I listed are the leading contenders (which is why I listed them). Prior to the nomination, campaigns mostly amount to internal party politicking, which presently seems to be conducted primarily by means of social media and interpsonal "networking". It's not until after the nomination that things like field support, financing, and publicity really come into play (the responsibility for which falls mostly on the national party). All this is mostly due to the fact that selection of the nominee is exclusively reserved to dues-paying members of the LP, rather than to the general voting public.

Yes, the LP should nominate one of the billionaires that is seeking their nomination.
There is nothing to fear from globalism, free trade and a single worldwide currency, but a globalism where free trade is competitively subsidized by each nation, a continuous trade war is dictated by the WTO, and the single currency is pure fiat, fear is justified. That type of globalism is destined to collapse into economic despair, inflationism and protectionism and managed by resurgent militant nationalism.
