American Maoism | James Lindsay

The Left moves operationally and according to a battle logic known as “dialectical political warfare.” The dialectic is the operating system of the Left, and it works by marrying a truth to a lie. Political warfare is a method of conducting warfare in which political means are used with hostile intent to get an enemy to behave in a desired fashion—propaganda is a great example. Perhaps the greatest dialectical political warfare tactician in human history is the monstrous figure of Mao Zedong, Communist dictator of China until his death in 1976. His tactics and cultural revolution are a testament to the fearsome and destructive power of dialectical political warfare, and they’re happening here in America and throughout the West today. Where Mao claimed to be employing “Marxism-Leninism with Chinese characteristics” in China, the “Woke” and environmental “Sustainability” movements we face in the present should be described as “Maoist Marxism with American Characteristics.” In this lecture from Dr. James Lindsay, the parallels between our experience today and the tools utilized in China under Mao will be made so clear that the unavoidable conclusion will be that we are living through nothing less than American Maoism.
Reaction is the Real Action | James Lindsay

Leftist activism is happy to take direct wins whenever it can get them, but that’s not always possible. When it can’t get direct wins through the front door, it is also more than happy to get its wins through the back door by exploiting what we can call an action-reaction dynamic. As an act of dialectical political warfare, which is their battle logic, Leftist agitators will provoke a reaction, control the framing around that reaction to a watching audience, and use the reaction as justification to advance their cause. This strategy was articulated by Saul Alinsky as “your enemy’s reaction is your real action,” and it forms a backbone for a Leftist two-step of provoke, then advance. Currently, in the United States, recognizing the tremendous challenge conservative Christianity poses to any Marxist takeover of the country, a reactionary movement called “Christian Nationalism” is being repeatedly provoked in the hopes of being able to use that reaction to nullify any Christian resistance to the Woke takeover of the West. In this lecture from Dr. James Lindsay of New Discourses, the nature of the action-reaction dynamic as a tool of political warfare and the example of the setup of Christian Nationalism as a reaction to Woke provocation is laid bare. Listen for an important warning to the American church!
How to Stop a Cultural Revolution | James Lindsay

With Liberty & Justice For All, Session 3 of 3 (15 December 2023)
Leftism has a battle logic: dialectical political warfare. They have used it in the past and are using it now to launch a cultural revolution against the West. The question before us, since we find ourselves in the midst of one, is once one has started, is it possible to stop a cultural revolution, and if so, how? This is, in fact, the most pressing and important question in the world. In this lecture, Dr. James Lindsay of New Discourses begins to provide an answer. We can learn their battle logic and beat them, not by fighting the dialectic with the dialectic but by positioning our political counter-warfare so that it outmaneuvers the dialectic itself. By understanding how they’re attacking us, what their targets and operational goals are, and how to counter some of their most basic tactics, we can easily mount a counter-offensive that beats their game without falling into the traps laid for us along the way. Join Dr. Lindsay for a crash course in how to stop a cultural revolution!

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Episode 130 (27 November 2023)
The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution. The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution. This is a core maxim of Marxist activist thought, and it explains so much. In the early 1990s, the French Postmodernist philosopher Jean Beaudrillard put it another way, though, in a sense. He provocatively published a book with the title The Gulf War Did Not Take Place. What Baudrillard meant is that the Gulf War was an event that happened in the Persian Gulf, but what we call the “Gulf War” was a propaganda and media creation by Western intelligence communities and mass media to achieve specific political warfare aims with the public. In that sense, just like how the issue, whether Covid, BLM, Drag Queen Story Hour, Ukraine, “Palestine,” or whatever else, is never the issue; each of those Current Things did not take place, in the Baudrillardian sense. In this provocative episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay explains the maxim and Baudrillard’s point and uses them to reveal Leftist tactics as well as political warfare strategies and counters. New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 76 (28 December 2023}
Communists have to get inside institutions to subvert and transform them. Getting into them requires tactics. The name for these tactics is entryism, or sometimes just entrism, and it describes how a hostile ideological force goes about getting inside an institution that wouldn't normally accept it. It's a key concept for stopping Woke Marxism, so in this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay breaks it down. Join him and understand this important Woke tactic.

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 77 (04 January 2024)
When Woke Marxists set their sights on an organization, there's a predictable pattern for how they'll get in and take over. Proceeding in five steps, it looks like this. First, they demand access. Once in, they demand accommodation, which will be weaponized according to their ability to take offense at everything. Then they'll demand a seat at the table, which is to say access to power. That will quickly expand to demanding to control the table and setting the rules. From there, they'll demand to control the whole room (organization). This is predictable, and it can be spotted and stopped. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay explains. Join him so you can learn to recognize it and fight back.

Wanna know why “red” towns across America have child drag shows and muddy buddy parades?
Walk with me and I’ll tell you why. And how to stop it:
First, you need to set aside [nursery rhyme] notions like “majority”. The Right loves cope like that.
“We’re the silent majority!”
Yeah, dork. Thinking like that is why you lose.
The communist understands “power” and “majority” are very different things. His is a demonic religion of destruction so he knows he’ll never be popular. And he doesn’t have to be.
He just has to take the choke points of power in a society.
Which brings us to your town. You know that library you drive by on the way to work every day? Do you even look at it?
No. You don’t.
Guess who does. The communist does. You see a library. He sees a choke point.
The communist understands power in a way the American Right never has. You put on a MAGA hat and post on Facebook and think you’re “political”.
The communist gets himself on your city’s parks department. Why? Cause he knows what politics really is about.
So yes, there are only 10 commies in your “red” town. But they’re all on your school board. THEY have the power. Your “majority” means nothing. Nothing.
If you want to save the parts of your country that can be saved, it involves much more than voting for Trump once every 4 years and avoiding Bud Light. You must become involved. LOCALLY.
Run for school board. When there’s a meeting or a committee in your town (communists love committees), go get on them.
When the communist pushes the next tranny parade, make noise. Organize. Last time they tried that in my “red” town, I had so many people calling that they stopped answering the phones in city hall. And in the end, I won.
Legal and local is our path to victory. Your red area is vulnerable cause you’re watching the game while the communists are planning and organizing.
Plan. Organize. Fight. Win.
Migrants as the new American Red Guard
James Lindsay, anti-Communist @ConceptualJames
As many of you know, I'm currently reading (when I have time to read) about the historical facts of Mao's Cultural Revolution, which are shocking. We know our kids are being made into a new Red Guard, but as I learn, I see it far more in the illegal aliens in our countries. 🧵
The details about how Mao, together with his general Lin Biao and propagandist Chen Boda, were able to build (1962-1966) and then unleash (June-August 1966) the Red Guard in China, especially Beijing, did not make me think of our brainwashed kids. They remind me of "migrants."
Aside from the raging Communist hatred and focus on the person of Mao, there are two key forces that created the Red Guard:
1) A "dreamer" population whipped up against class enemies, that's new to the population (kids in China)
2) A two-tier legal system protecting them.
In China, Mao unleashed relentless propaganda, with the help of Lin and Chen, mostly targeting children, that
(a) extolled revolutionary heroes and martyrs
(b) decried secret class enemies through all the ranks of society.
Chen Boda declared: "Sweep away monsters and demons!"
This dynamic is repeated here to some degree with illegal aliens far more than with our disaffected, broken, brainwashed youth (at least for now). They're promised something like the American Dream, for themselves, and whipped up to come north against dangerous odds.
They're told what a land of plenty the United States is and that they can have a better life there, and they're also told "all those houses will be yours." They're given a taste of this through unbelievable "social services" when they get here, after crossing illegally.
This is a population rife for Leftist hatecraft in the form of "we know you are supposed to have everything, but the selfish hoarders ("capitalist roaders" in China) are keeping you from it." I would expect they're being fed this messaging in their "social services."
In Aurora, Colorado, with the apparent support of the state, we see what it looks like when this actually plays out. Neighborhoods, apartment blocks, etc., being taken over by heavily armed thugs who believe that property is now for them. It's just a taste of what could come.
This brings us to the other essential ingredient necessary for the Red Guard to follow Lin Biao's dictum to "Smash the Four Olds": legal immunity. Mao put forth a dictum of 16 policies in 1966 that included a denunciation of hidden class enemies and legal immunity for students.
The most radical students who were forming the Red Guard (at Tsinghua University Middle School) understood their job: destroy all the hidden class enemies and smash the old world to build the new one (be able to see what can be, unburdened by what has been).
In the Red August of 1966, the violence was almost entirely concentrated in Beijing, despite the youth radicalism being all over the country. Why? Because the Cultural Revolution Group, which answered only to Mao and had power, was there, proving they could get away with murder.
That is, the Red Guard, in 1966, held itself back everywhere except in places they knew they were legally immune and could get away with anything. "To Rebel is Justified!" was the message, and with legal protections, they destroyed or stole billions and billions, and more.
The Cultural Revolution Group, which included Madame Mao, was very clear that students, even in the acts of beating "Black Gang Elements" and "capitalist roaders," a.k.a., "bad people," to death were "justified" and legally protected in every way. They got the message.
In particular, Mao and the Cultural Revolution Group were shoring up their power by unleashing these immunized students against the Party Work Groups that had previously restrained them, under the auspices that they were "suppressing the masses" by stopping the Red Guard.
Mao was waging a revolution against his own party, the CCP, and his own government, and he did it by turning anyone who resisted the assaults of the Red Guards into "bad elements" whom the Red Guards would destroy. To stop them was a crime, so no one could stop them.
This brings us back to the illegal aliens filling our countries today, with this visible in the US and Canada but vivid in Europe and undeniable in Britain. It's not just that they have legal immunity to cross in and stay. They are increasingly getting the memo for far more.
In the UK, there are literally rapes, stabbings, and gang violence across the country perpetrated by the illegal (and legal) aliens there, and it's "racist" and "xenophobic," literally illegal under British law, to oppose, expose, or criticize them, even in gentle ways.
Let me be clear: "Two-Tier Kier" Starmer has his Red Guard, even though they are Green, in the United Kingdom, and "to rebel is justified" for them, and they know it. They will Smash the British World and build a new world the Fabian Communists hope they can control.
As this unfolds, British culture will be smashed in the name of some Caliphate, just like has happened in other countries swarmed by radical Islam. The British government, under Starmer and Labour, are encouraging this. Why? Look back to Beijing in 1966 and understand Mao.
This same program is playing out across Europe and rapidly increasing in Canada and the United States, where the stage has been set. They are importing a Red Guard and using "DEI" as a pretext to establish a two-tier legal system that unleashes a Cultural Revolution.

The abstracts are interesting, but I take issue with a couple of things, first and foremost the barfing up of jargon, specifically "entryism". This is gratuitous and it clouds things, even if only a little. "Infiltration" is the appropriate term there and it is used just below in the next post. Words are important.
Next, I would point out that the strategy of destruction has all benefits working in its favor and we can generally label it as "entropy". Ordered systems are difficult to establish and MAINTAIN. The World Trade Center took years to erect at huge cost of resources. Ordered systems are generally easy to destroy. The WTC buildings fell in under ten seconds. Why? Entropy. Things fall apart generally far more easily than they are put together.
It took a long time to establish the "western world". It is a highly ordered system, the creation of which required knowledge that was hard-won. It took huge effort in manifold respects. There is the physical, the mental, the moral. All these things require huge investments to keep them afloat. As Reagan once pointed out, freedom is just one generation away from going <POOF> into the ether. It is the same with all large human endeavors because they want to fly apart. We have to not just want to keep them together, we have to want it enough, and as things stand today, we don't. We want what we want, but have been conditioned to expect someone else to do all the heavy lifting. The world not only doesn't work that way, it CANNOT. It is not in the nature of things.
People... LIFE itself, tends to be entropic. Living things are generally lazy, human beings being no exception. If you toss sides of tasty beef into the territory of a tiger, it will soon stop hunting. They hunt because the stomach commands it. Otherwise, they lay about snoozing.
This is a topic that has many dimensions that interlink like a great Gordian Knot. Once the will to maintain a good system is dismantled, the system collapses in short order, and we are witnessing it now in America and, I suspect, much of the rest of the world. But we don't see it in jihadist lands because their beliefs are fueled by the fanaticism of the conqueror, which is based in cause-orientation. Cause oriented people can be wildly dangerous when the cause is destructive of the interests and rights of others. Our history has demonstrated this more times than any decent man could admit without shame.
The fact is this: the deck is stacked against liberty. The natural entropy of humans manifests as various forms of corruption, such as lassitude and avarice. People on average want something for nothing and communism, for example, promises them everything for nothing. it's all lies, but people don't care. The dying man pays the snake oil peddler because he wants to believe that the concoction will cure him. Our corruptions are perhaps the most pervasive and powerful drivers of our motivations, and we are experts at painting false labels on all of it in the interest of making the profane sound noble. Years ago I identified what I believe to be the four basic categories of human failings that underpin all our problems: Fear, Avarice, Ignorance, and Lassitude, or FAIL for short ( https://freedomisobvious.blogspot.co...cessities.html ).
The realities of actual freedom are simply too terrifying to the average man for his to accept. And to boot, freedom is just too much work. So the average dreg is happy to release all his claims in exchange for a series of lies that he thinks makes him "free", his perception of the term being mostly "free stuff", even if only tacitly.
There was a reason the Roman Church behaved in so barbaric a manner as they did toward the flock. I'm the first to acknowledge that they made a bit of a $#@!ty mess of it all, going far too far in their methods. I further recognize the clergy's own corruptions such as their avarice for position and power that lead them to the suppression of all higher learning by laymen. But at the root of it all laid the valid recognition that human beings are most apt to become horrific beasts, particularly when gathered in large numbers. The tendency must be suppressed or chaos ensues. I agree with the use of the rod... to a point. But proper learning is more essential and we have turned our backs to that in favor of the rod which on its own is rarely effective in the longer term, its over-use begetting more anger and resentment than obedience. Hence, French Revolution, Russian Revolution, etc., all of which are laced with understandable, yet highly self-defeating levels of rage that inevitably turn potentially good events bad.
Kill tyrants? By all means. But when you begin to turn on yourselves or when you consume the innocent along with the guilty, you have already lost and would have been better served to have stayed home, refraining from staining your hands with the wrong blood.
The better solution is to be intolerant of a tyrant's rise in the first place. Prevent them from attaining office of any sort, and when one slips past, use your "system" properly to dislodge him, perhaps punishing him, and ensuring he never is again able to transgress. But we don't do that because we want our rights without strings attached. We are corrupt and our reap is proof of my assertion. Things do not have to be this way, but now that they are so badly misaligned with basic propriety, there is next to no chance of a peaceable correction and wild bloodshed is likely our only practicable recourse. What a terrible, horrific shame it all is.
