A majority of American adults would not be willing to serve in the military were the U.S. to enter into a major war, recent polling has found, while public confidence in the armed forces appears to be waning.

The figures come as all branches of the armed forces have in recent years struggled to meet their recruitment targets, suggesting a growing apathy towards a career of military service. In 2023, the Army and Air Force fell short of their respective goals by around 10,000 recruits, while the Navy was under by 6,000. Since 1987, the number of active-duty personnel has fallen by 39 percent.

Experts say that such shortfalls are worrisome in an increasingly volatile global picture with American leadership unsure when it will next have to bring its full military force to bear.

"We have strike groups, aircraft carriers with a Marine Expeditionary Unit outside Israel now," Justin Henderson, a former transport operator for the U.S. Marines turned military recruiter, told Newsweek. "We're funding two wars, but we're actually boots on the ground, drones above Gaza. So we're already involved in there—and we're not sure what's happening in Taiwan. So this is a very tumultuous time for us, because we don't know what's going to happen."

I have to question the sanity of anybody who actually wants to fight for our government at this point.

There is a civil war that must be won before fighting a foreign enemy.
I would not invite a person that hates me to my home for dinner.
If so many people in the USA hate me, why would I die for them?
People in armed services do not fight for my freedom anymore than the police serve or protect.

Why would any sane person volunteer to be cannon fodder for the MIC (and others)?

It's not an American problem, it's generational. The average age of soldiers in the Russia/Ukraine war is mid 40's. Kids today will not defend their country.

If the US were invaded, the older guys would have to defend it while the kids would do a tik tok dance to stop the war.

As far as going overseas to fight for oil and the MIC, $#@! that not interested.

Yeah, enough members of my generation figured out that war is a racket and passed that knowledge along to the next generation that the leathernecks can't find suckers any more.

I guess there are not enough young people who need transgender "care" to populate the military.

New Army recruitment ad features ONLY white men

    They're still tryin, though.

As WWIII looms, the US Army shamelessly releases a new recruitment ad featuring ONLY white men
    November 8, 2023

The United States military is happily echoing the left’s nasty anti-white narrative. They’re marginalizing white men to elevate transgenders, the LGBTQ community, women, and minorities—until the moment white men are needed once more. Then, right on cue, they produce a fresh ad spotlighting only white men, a stark contrast to their usual rhetoric. This shameless flip-flop unfolds just days after we found out that officials hid the Nashville shooter’s anti-white manifesto from the public. ...

...when it comes to actively recruiting “cannon fodder,” the military omits diversity.

As World War III looms ominously on the horizon, if the military-industrial complex gets its way, it’s the white guys who’ll be front and center in the crossfire. After all, those new infinity pools won’t pay for themselves, right?

Of Biden's first moves was to direct the military to "purge white supremacists".

Now they can't fill their recruitment goals.

No young sane white man should even consider signing up for military service to this regime.

Find a good woman, if you can, get out of the cities and raise a homeschooled family

For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
    But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;
    An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
An' Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool -- you bet that Tommy sees!

There's a bit more to this story. Even ignoring the GWOT fiasco and pointless fist-shaking against the younger generations who didn't raise themselves, the sort of men who would answer the call to arms have been treated with nothing but contempt by their own nation and country(wo)men. At this point I'd sooner see the entire world turn to ash before I'd take up arms under the current regime. They can send in the clowns and go F themselves. Maybe I'll get a yellow ribbon magnet for my car (probably not).

Why should any man, especially a white, heterosexual, traditional man, risk himself for a nation that wants him swept aside like trash? There is no external threat as grave as the one that is currently metastasizing within our own nation, so the thought of taking up arms in its defense is unacceptable.

Oh, I don't know. If we could conquer that foreign nation that mysteriously appeared between Fredrick, Maryland and Fredericksburg, Virginia, I think that would be an imminently acceptable defense.

I don't think that's what the USMC is recruiting for. But I would approve.

The comic writer forgot a few:

We poisoned the minds of your children against you and themselves.

We rang up over $30 trillion dollars of debt, to be paid by your posterity.

We mocked and ridiculed you in media we own.

We blocked you and openly discriminated against you entering colleges, and then laughed when white men became a non-entity in universities.

We opened the borders of the country to millions upon millions of ethnic invaders.

We laughed and mocked you when those invaders drove down your wages to where you can no longer support or raise a family of your own.

We subsidized invaders to have more children at the same time.

We derided and gaslit you when you called us out on our own papers and councils where we planned to replace you and your posterity.

We then openly celebrated when the invaders started taking over and replacing you.

We inserted highly placed people in the "justice" system and instructed them to let the criminal element run amok: robbing your homes, cars, businesses and places of worship, raping and murdering your women and children.

We laugh at you as a hundred thousand or more die at the hands of the drugs you bring into the country.

We promote the foulest and most vile of sexual perversions as "glorious, proud and normal" in a poorly veiled effort to normalize the sexual exploitation of pre pubescent children.

I could go on and on and on.

I'm really hoping whoever is really running the show in washington right now, it sure isn't Biden, doesn't get us into a WW3 scenario where all the old guys have to defend the country from invasion. I would reluctantly do it, but I will be mighty pissed off that I have to. There would surely need to be a reckoning afterwards. This country is massively $#@!ed up right now and I would hope seeing exactly who saves their asses would be a big wake up call.
