Universo Paralello, which took place Oct. 6-7, is a festival that originated in the Brazilian state of Bahia and is focused on psytrance, a high-BPM form of trance music that has long been one of the most popular forms of electronic music in Israel.

The Israeli version of Paralello Universo, called Supernova Sukkot Gathering after the Jewish holiday, released this statement on Instagram earlier on Sunday (Oct. 8): “The Nova tribe is shocked and pained. We support and participate in the grief of the families of the missing and murdered. We are doing everything we can to assist the security forces, standing by. They are in continuous contact and are located in the field during scans and searches in order to locate the missing.”

The lineup featured psytrance producers from countries including Brazil, Spain, Japan and Mexico, with performers Aladin, Artifex, Astral Projection, Flare Jackalon, Jumpstreet, Kido, LIbra, Man With No Name, Noface, Protanica, Rocky Tilbor, Shove, Spectra Sonics, Swarup, Wegha. Billboard reached out for comment from multiple DJs on the lineup but did not immediately receive responses.

Universo Paralello has been happening in Brazil for nearly two decades. The festival was co-founded by Juarez Petrillo, a longstanding producer and promoter and the father of the globally known producer Alok.

Earlier on Sunday, Alok released a statement regarding his father’s presence at the Israeli event. Petrillo was on the lineup performing under his DJ name, Swarup.

“As many of you know, my father was in one of the invaded locations, and concerning his involvement in the event, he is not the organizer,” Alok’s statement reads. “My father was HIRED to perform at an event that licensed the rights to use the festival’s name, as has happened in several other countries before. The Israeli producer licensed the use of the brand and independently organized the event, with my father being one of the attractions.”

There is never going to be a hot shooting war with Iran. That has been an idle threat since the 70's. There will be more proxy wars.

If cheap foreign supply dries up, domestic production will ramp up. You give more power to the woke greenies than they deserve. When the average people in the US can't get fuel for their cars they will demand production increase. If they don't get it they will vote out the ones keeping it from them.

For the sake of humanity and what is righteous and good in the war on evil, Israel must level GAZA, flatten it into a parking lot, and then glass it.

They must be shown through IDF force that they don’t exist, and their pretend homeland doesn’t exist. We will not recognize these animals and the entire world must unite in rejecting them and denying them any sense of dignity.

That is likely true, Hezzbolla has real weapons via Iran. Not homemade rockets and pilfered small small arms. But Israel has a modern military with an air force, navy and is a nuclear power if it comes down to that. A lot of Palestinians are about to die, yet the media whitewash it and make no war crime claims against Israel.

I used to be squarely pro-Palestine and anti-Israel as well.

However my views have changed somewhat. I do believe Israel has the right to their land and to defend themselves. That said, I do not always agree with their methods of doing so. I also think the USS Liberty attack was shady as hell, though that was like 60 years ago.. But more recently, were they involved in 9/11? How much influence do they have over US foreign policy and US political leaders? Those are good questions, I would like to get to the bottom of that. However, that doesn't change my opinion too much on whether the people of Israel have the right to their land and the defense thereof. It says to me more about the leadership and our lack of commitment to providing transparency of their actions.

My question to you would be how many Arabs lived in Palestine in, say, 1900?

How did so many Arabs arrive in Palestine subsequently?

The answer to those questions may help provide some context as to how I arrived at my conclusion.

That said, this conflict.. well.. it does seem there may have been some provocation based on the post above by Snowball.. so I have some questions.

Obviously we should stay completely out of this but if I had to pick a side, I'd lean towards Israel based on 2 things. One is that they've created a much freer, prosperous place to live than just about any muslim country I can think of. My guess is if Israel and Palestine swapped territories in a few years the new Israel territory would be a better place to live than the Palestine territory. Two is that as far as I can tell Israel goes after military targets where the Palestinians target civilians. Yeah, I know lots of civilians get killed when your targets are military but I still think there's a difference.
