Faulty thesis.
The true 1% are not included in this, this is merely the top 1% earners.
The true 1% would also include the oligarchy, whose wealth has separated from income/earning dependency.
Another faulty thesis is that these are the same people as last year. I’d you sell a business or property or get a lump sum of some other kind, you can go into the 1% for a year.

It would depend on if it's counted as earned income or a capitol gains. I don't know if the people who made the above chart accounted for that.
Duh, that's the point... the top 1% of income earners... there is no publicly available, reliable way to measure wealth. You can't know for sure who the most wealthy people are:

Says 474k where I am . If that was the case for me I'd never do 474k in taxable more than three years. Then youd have a million to start something where it wouldnt all show up
