Aaaaand the 2015 version of the same promise:
https://www.migrationpolicy.org/arti...nished-missionAhead of the 2016 elections, the Republican presidential candidate pledged a “deportation force” that would remove millions of unauthorized immigrants. “We have at least 11 million people in this country that came in illegally. They will go out,” he claimed during one primary debate.
If drugs cannot be kept out of a maximum security prison, they won't be kept off the streets.
Why wouldn't illegals leaving which would cause wages to rise and therefore entice more Americans to work in those fields, happen? As I mentioned Hispanic Americans work those same jobs and their UE rate would go down once illegals are booted.
Plus all the money they cost America. The welfare they receive in some states. And they send money home. That money isn't spent here. The fiscal burden has been estimated at 151 billion a year.
Plus the strain they put on healthcare. Often going to emergency rooms for non emergencies because they don't have a family doctor

It's like going bankrupt. Gradually, then suddenly.

Because the companies that use low skilled illegals simply can not afford to pay any higher wages. They would fail. We are already seeing that to some extent in Florida.
The illegals should not receive any welfare or free health care. But if they want to come forward get a green card and become legal workers it is nothing but good for America.

Okay if so let the free market decide. Who is closing because of a labor shortage nowadays?
Depends on the industry. https://www.uschamber.com/workforce/...ted-industries
Even the ones on terror watchlists?
Sorry but I just don’t understand your end goal here- every single person who was trafficked across the border is now going to be my responsibility to provide welfare benefits to for the rest of their lives, and you think it makes sense to just leave them? Not to mention unspeakable criminal activity associated with these people allowed to flood all corners of this country, and you just say eh, give ‘‘em the keys the country.
What other countries have open borders where you can just show up, lie about needing asylum, then be granted full access to an already overloaded welfare system?
Actually, F you, you are completely wrong.

On Trump:
How conservative Republicans can continue to support this arrogant imposter—the man who brags about inflicting the world with the Covid mark of the beast; the man who said, “Take the guns first, go through due process second”; and the man who deliberately played and then set up Stewart Rhodes (of course, Stewart was all too eager to be Trump’s patsy) for an 18-year prison sentence—is truly beyond my comprehension.” Chuck Baldwin

I do not suffer from Trump Rearrangement Syndrome. Sorry if that triggers you.
As the man who has the most posts on here, and is, well, nominally, for Trump in 2024, I feel this is a swipe at me, personally.
Feel free to post rebuttals and alternatives...I, for one, would welcome the increased content.
We never should have banned Zippy.
But, rest assured, I'm not suffering a psychotic break.
Well, no more so than usual anyway.

I'll give you this - the alternatives aren't currently running in the Republican Party primaries polling at more than 0%.
So under status quo assumptions, there are no other alternatives.
However...
Ron Paul was never an approved "option" in 2008 and 2012, and even Trump was hardly an approved option in 2016. The grassroots strengths of the Ron Paul campaigns were not from people saying "well our only options are McCain and Romney". They were from people who said "we can do better and even if we don't win we should try".
That particular Ron Paul Forums energy seems completely lacking, with the Trump vs. DeSantis debates, and so on. The pathway from inertia disrupters to inertia preservers is the most troubling path the general community has taken IMO.
Hell among the current candidates I'd even say I'd support Trump just because he's term limited if nothing else, and it kicks the can down the road to where we can plan for something better in 2028.
Anyway, I wasn't thinking so much of you as two others with post counts also over 60,000, who basically act as Trump's propagandists.

I just want objectivity on this forum and will point out flawed sources or points of view at my leisure.

They don't want imperfect improvement, they want fantasy perfection whether things just keep getting worse or not.
Their reaction to Trump's imperfections is not even to find a viable improvement over him (because there are none at this time) but to declare all the good he did to be sour grapes and act as if it doesn't exist.
I too want someone much better than Trump, but there isn't one right now, and all the supposed competitors like Ramaswampy and and RFK Jr. are provably worse to the point of being more bad than good.
