Marxists storm and occupy House Speaker McCarthy's office

I'm assuming long prison sentences will follow...right?

    Right?

Activists arrested after occupying Speaker McCarthy’s office over AIDS program reauthorization

By Ryan King Published Sep. 11, 2023, 1:30 p.m. ET

Seven demonstrators were busted Monday after they barged into and briefly occupied House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) office, according to Capitol Police.

The protesters were seeking a five-year reauthorization of PEPFAR, a George W. Bush-era program that provides government funding for HIV and AIDS treatment, prevention and research.

“Pass PEPFAR now,” the group chanted as security personnel warned that they would be arrested if they remained.

The activists were later stood up against the wall outside McCarthy’s office and handcuffed.

They kept demanding PEPFAR’s renewal as authorities escorted them away, in a scene captured on video by Politico reporter Alice Miranda Ollstein.

These people look extremely guilty. Yes, they should be fined and possibly imprisoned.

The J6 people faced the insurrection charges, these people won't and I don't think were attempting one.

Yeah the J6 people got excessive sentences. I feel bad about that, but blame Trump for their problems.

Does anybody here know anybody who has died of AIDS?

I knew a guy who had it, he lived for 25 years and then died of a heart attack in his 60s.

Poor analogy, the Capitol was open, police opened the doors and welcomed in most of the people who got charged.

Which ones and how many of the J6 protesters were "attempting" an insurrection? What actions did they take to further this "insurrection"?

The ones found guilty of it in federal court. Some were just tresspassing, some committed property crimes etc. I'm actually getting tired of discussing them. They were idiots who followed Trump. From what I understand a majority of them regret that.

So if a federal court found the protesters in McCarthy's office guilty of insurrection, then it would be true? I'm still not clear where this magical line is that divides citizens touring the building, from trespassing, from protesting, from disobedience, and from insurrection.

Seems like out of all of those, that "insurrection" is a thought crime, inferred and imposed upon someone by outsiders, and deemed to be true when indicted and convicted.

I feel like after about 2005, nobody even talked about it anymore. It was such a huge issue from the early 90s to the early 2000s. What happened?

I lived in a college town in the early 2000s with tens of thousands of promiscous students, not once did I hear of anybody getting even HIV.. and the only guy I know who had it was an old gay dude who was very promiscuous in the 80s in NYC.. and he didn't even die of AIDS, lived with HIV about 25 years, took mostly "alternative" non-FDA approved medications and died of a candy overdose (heart attack, but he was addicted to sugar and candy).

I believe it is caused by the HIV virus. It destroys the immune system, and people die of other things.

I didn't know any straight people who caught it, just gay people. There were a variety of factors that made it worse back then. More than anything, the drugs to treat it (but not cure), became much better and much more tolerable.

Like COVID, many early "treatments" only made it worse.

Also back then there were false medical claims that made it transmit more easily. They claimed that Nonoxynol-9 prevented infection, when in fact it made it transmit easier.

Then there was the "movement" for all the gay people to give and catch it, thus they could continue with the bath-house culture. If everybody has it, then they could do whatever they wanted with whoever as much as they want. My hypothesis is that the people who continued in the bath-house culture died from it, while people who became celibate or monogamous survived because they weren't involved in that. Instead of being infected one time with one variant, the bath-house people were continually exposing themselves to new strains and a variety of infections (while having a damaged immune system).

Everyone isn't saying the same thing. But you selectively respond to the low hanging fruit. Almost every time...

The whole argument is low hanging fruit. All the J6 threads are basically the same: "Why is this completely different situation treated differently?!?"

How many threads do you think we'd have if the sun burnt out and stopped shining?

I doubt anybody here is asking "why".

    We all know why.

People are just pointing out examples, and how those examples are becoming more blatant and egregious every single day.

When the system drops all pretenses of "justice", when it starts jailing political prisoners by the thousands, well, that is big news.

    At least to Boobus anyways.

    People's examples are stupid.

These two actions are not the same:
    1) Entering a place that you are permitted to be on a day that place is open to the public
    2) Entering a place that you are not permitted to be on a day that place is closed to the public
