How much you want to bet it gets hooked up to a coal-fired portion of the grid?

Trees, on the other hand, really are solar powered.

There are more trees today in the US than there were 100 years ago.

Most people have no idea about the natural environment. It is a battle every single year to prevent trees from taking over pastures. Unless you burn or mow the pasture a least once a year trees take over. Eastern Red Cedars will take over pastures quickly.

To see native prairie grasses a person has to go to state or federally protected lands. It would be nice for people that have no connection with the land and who have never worked land a day in their life to keep their mouths shut and stay in their lane.

I may have come off a bit harsh. I forget not everyone grew up in the country. People don't know what they don't know. I mostly blame the media because they are telling people who have an empty slate what to believe. I'm expecting too much from people to know anything about prairie ecosystems even though it is basic junior high science.

And what do you think of people killing plants and proclaiming that this will help reduce the very gaseous chemical that plants consume for their carbon atoms? You know. What do you actually think of the subject of this thread?

I see the hypocrisy, but expect nothing less from those people. These are the same individuals who go whichever way the wind blows.

As far as planting more more trees it is something people can do to make themselves feel good. Sure I'm against deforestation, but I'm also against people planting trees where they don't belong.

So why is it that, from declaring wood a "carbon-neutral fuel" and switching from burning coal to burning trees, to this crap, so-called environmental concern seems to invariably lead to what was the greatest bane of the environmentalist: Clear cutting?

Once again liberals are being asked to prove their hypocrisy and their ability to switch from one virtue signal to its exact opposite without ever asking why.

"In order to battle the buildup of greenhouse gases" they're doing the one and only thing they can do which could upset the balance of nature enough to cause a buildup of CO2.

Interesting. No doubt there are actually people like that. Reminds me of a lecture I once saw. There was a Rabbi (can't remember his name) giving a presentation about Jewish history. His main point was that (as a generalization I suppose) the Jewish people have always been an urban people that prefer high density communal living, diversity and urban culture. He said that when Jewish people became farmers (mentioning the stereotype from Fiddler on the Roof), it was not by choice, but rather when they were forced to leave a given city. In essence, he claimed, as much as he can speak for a large diverse group, that they prefer the urban environment.

I guess they figure they'll save the planet by converting carbon-absorbing trees into sun-blocking smoke.

AI has no use for trees or vegetation. Sand is the way to go. I'm gonna buy up some land in the Mojave Desert to make nickels on the penny. Which in just a couple of years those nickels will be worth a penny. It's not so much an investment as it is a hedge. Wait... what's another term for hedge that won't be confused with vegetation?
