    International War on Trees

Nothing but nothing absorbs more CO2 from the atmosphere than trees. Nothing releases more O2 oxygen for us to breathe than trees. Nothing keeps an area cooler than trees, intercepting the sunlight before it warms the ground and absorbing some of the energy for photosynthesis.

So why is it that, from declaring wood a "carbon-neutral fuel" and switching from burning coal to burning trees, to this crap, so-called environmental concern seems to invariably lead to what was the greatest bane of the environmentalist: Clear cutting?

Once again liberals are being asked to prove their hypocrisy and their ability to switch from one virtue signal to its exact opposite without ever asking why.

"In order to battle the buildup of greenhouse gases" they're doing the one and only thing they can do which could upset the balance of nature enough to cause a buildup of CO2.

Clue: Compare satellite images of the forest cover in the Pacific Northwest before and after Obama's presidency. During those eight years, the commercial forest land was ravaged. Bear in mind that the term "tree-hugger" is supposed to describe the party politics which got Obama elected into office. Clown World is the gift that never stops giving (evil).

Most Democrats know nothing about nature. They are city types.

Which is why I don't understand there's not more attention for the Green Belt in Africa, that's a multibillion dollar project to create a 50km (35mi or so) strip of vegetation from coast to coast to curb further spread of the destertification. Something that definitely would affect the local climate. Costs some money but if you think about the benefits...

Remember when they used to lose their minds over preserving the Amazon rain forest?

Anyway, libertarians should incorporate planting trees into our message.

Yes, we should. Johnny Appleseed was a voluntarist.

I often throw out this "stat" that if just 5% of the world's population planted 1 tree, it would eliminate the world's "excess" carbon.

No idea if it's true but sounds legit, lol.

To be honest, it probably isn't that far off.

Responsible forest management is not a problem. It’s actually part of the solution to prevent out of control wild fires.

Permanently destroying forests and replacing them with cattle grazing, mining, solar panels, windmills, asphalt, buildings, etc. does alter the ecosystem. That concern has been thrown out the window and replaced by global Marxist political propaganda fed to ignorant useful idiots.

    Fact check: false

Truth: About 70% of the environmental oxygen comes from algae.
It's all about taking action and not being lazy. So you do the work, whether it's fitness or whatever. It's about getting up, motivating yourself and just doing it.

Well don't tell anyone. They're already trying to claim they own all the water. That would just give them an excuse to fence off every pond.

Tree huggers really should be hugging phytoplankton.

If there really was a CO2 imbalance in the atmosphere, the ocean would quickly correct it by turning green with algae.

Any idiot who's ever owned an aquarium knows how that works, but "teh schience" still hasn't figured that out.

Destroy the planet's number two converter of carbon dioxide to oxygen for the purpose of... What, again?

They were never your friends, and you never really cared about them at all.

It served your political purposes to pretend you cared.

    Now it doesn't.

    That's all this is.
