Trump indictment #2: classified documents @ Mar-a-Lago [US / federal]

    [Trump indictments: index of threads]

    The indictment:
Donald Trump: ‘I Have Been Indicted … I Am An Innocent Man!’

    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2...ocent-man-doj/

    JORDAN DIXON-HAMILTON 8 Jun 2023

Former President Donald Trump announced Thursday evening that federal prosecutors had indicted him as part of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into his handling of White House documents.

Trump said U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors notified his attorneys of the indictment, in a statement issued on Truth Social.

    Trump posted:

Page 1: The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax, even though Joe Biden has 1850 Boxes at the University of Delaware, additional Boxes in Chinatown, D.C., with even more Boxes at the University of Pennsylvania, and documents strewn all over his garage floor where he parks his Corvette, and which is “secured” by only a garage door that is paper thin, and open much of the time.

Trump said he was ordered to appear at the federal courthouse in Miami on Tuesday for the start of federal criminal proceedings against him.

    He added:

Page 2: I have been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM. I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the History of our Country, and is currently leading, by far, all Candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in Polls of the 2024 Presidential Election. I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!

Trump said his indictment marks a a “DARK DAY” for the country.

“Page 3: This is indeed a DARK DAY for the United States of America,” Trump concluded. “We are a Country in serious and rapid Decline, but together we will Make America Great Again!”

The exact charges federal prosecutors indicted Trump on were not immediately clear. The Department of Justice had not made an immediate comment or confirmation of Trump’s indictment as of 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

Trump’s apparent indictment came one day after it was reported that an indictment by DOJ prosecutors would come imminently. It marks the first time that a former president, or leading opposition candidate for the presidency, has been indicted.

2 down 2 to go. He is still under investigation in Georgia and for Jan 6th.

Does anyone still think he can seriously be elected again under the weight of all these legal troubles?

He will be elected because of "these legal troubles".

    Two possibilities:

    (a) the Feds are sitting on a trove of damning evidence showing all kinds of evil stuff Trump is secretly involved in

    (b) this is a desperate ploy by the Deep State to prevent Trump from running for POTUS

So, unless they're about to disclose said trove of damning evidence (count me skeptical), then the only logical alternative is (b). Which means that a lot of normies are going to be forced out of their comfortable cocoon of ignorance.

I do hope the Deep State is about to get paid back for its ocean of crimes... it is many decades overdue...

I haven't got much use for the guy beyond the "bull in a china shop" factor, and I haven't voted at all since Ron Paul 2012.

Nevertheless, I'm sorely tempted to vote for him in 2024 merely for the psychic gratification of spiting the hypocritical $#@!s.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Of course, or at least that's the plan.

How can anyone read that Breitbart gush and not realize this is an excuse for giving him free publicity?

We're going to indict him to give him a selling point.

Democrats love playing the victim card, but they have no use for "leaders" who do. Republicans don't play victim cards, but consider it street cred when a politician does, no matter how obviously a false flag. Right, @Swordsmyth?

You certainly aren't. They are, after all, spending hundreds of millions on a propaganda campaign designed to make you feel that way.

Donald Trump indicted for 2nd time, in classified documents investigation: Sources

Can former President Donald Trump run for president again despite indictment?

Former President Trump has repeatedly denied wrongdoing.

Former President Donald Trump has been indicted for a second time, this time on federal charges in relation to his handling of classified information while out of office, sources familiar confirm to ABC News.

The former president faces at least seven charges, sources tell ABC News, which include willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, withholding a document or record, corruptly concealing a document or record, concealing a document in a federal investigation, scheme to conceal, and false statements and representations.

Maximum sentences for the respective charges, per their statutes, range from five up to 20 years, although any eventual sentence should Trump be convicted would likely be much lower.

Trump is set to be arraigned in federal court in Miami on Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET, sources said.

In a statement on social media, Trump wrote Thursday he had been told of the indictment and insisted the case was a "hoax."

There...is the Breitbart butthurt gone now?

    Where?

Here's the current banner at Drudge.

I clicked through on every one of those headlines.

Not a single one was "pro Trump propaganda" in any way shape or form.

Every media organ in the country will be cheering by tomorrow morning.

So where are all those hundreds of millions of dollars for sympathetic Trump reporting going?

I'm with @Occam's Banana on this, I'd vote for him now just to piss in their cheerios.

Well, no...he'll be in jail or dead by 2024.

Maybe if he went up against Clinton or Harris that would be the case. Unfortunately the Democrats aren't stupid enough to put themselves in that scenario.

You can run a campaign from jail I guess its the charge that would prevent actually running.

I talk to people every day. That's where most of the republicans are who voted for him in the last 2 elections. When people don't stand on principle, they reap what they sow. And they deserve what they get.

Well, damn! If I had noticed those things, I could have written some SWLODs, or strengthened my resolve to vote harder, or bitched about it on the Internet, or something.

I am extremely disappointed in myself.

Oh, well. Too late now, I guess. Maybe next time.

(Assuming I don't get distracted again, of course.)

I just said he'll be dead or in jail, so it's a moot point.
