Did anyone else notice the wierd u-shaped heels on Biden's shoes? They're being compared to the special shoes Michael Jackson had made so he could lean at a 45 degree angle without falling over. They must make Biden hook his feet to the stage to keep him from falling over or wandering around.
While Michael Jackson patented a version of these heels, something similar was used by vaudvillians and the Tinman to create the same effect. Fittingly, this is also how some stop motion characters (puppets!) are attached to the stage - nuts are built into the feet and bolts are screwed in through holes in the floor to hold them in place for the shot.
