Thread: DeSantis SuperPAC Attacks Trump's anti-gun record:

    I feel you.

There may be something more definitive, I'll look around, but among pro-2A types, he's viewed as someone who supports gun confiscations.

Single issue voters strike again. And not even the important ones.

Between the gun crowd and the holier than thou holy rollers, is it any wonder.

Why? If he's really opposed to them, then he should just do it without needing to be prompted first.

That's what a "leader" would do. (A real one, anyway.)

Just file DeSantis under "Gun Grabbers, Half-Assed" (same as Trump).

DeSantis is obviously not a leader on the right to keep and bear arms, that's not the question. The question is whether he supports repeal of red flag gun confiscation laws. So far he hasn't directly answered that question (he hasn't been asked AFAIK)

Trump is on record as actually being in favor of gun control. DeSantis isn't at this point. But you're right about the "half assed" aspect of things, because he did the bare minimum for permitless carry in FL. And he probably wouldn't have even done that if I hadn't had forced him into it.

Wouldn't it be wonderful, instead of Ron Paul and RFK Jr being "he who shall not be named", Trump/DeSantis were named that, and all attention be given to those actually worthy of support. Wouldn't that be something?

Wait... let me keep prying for answers that I want to hear, so that we could give him yet another another chance. /sarc

That would be, like, seriously weird.

As far as "single issues" are concerned, gun confiscations are pretty high on the list...

Thousands of firearms have been illegally seized in FL since Rick Scott passed his red flag gun confiscation laws.

Have the red flag laws been overturned? I guess the folks down there either don't mind, or haven't made it clear enough to whoever holds office.

I'm not making light of this. But for too long, people have been sacrificing their rights; Red flag, Patriot Act, NSA, TSA, Massive Spending. Perhaps instead of waiting for politicians to do something, this will be a wake-up call for the People to do something. IMO, politicians are representative of the people, either people who support such "laws", or because they are too complacent.

They haven't been overturned yet but there are legislators who are supportive of repealing it. But the senior legislators will not allow a vote to repeal the red flag laws while they are still in office.

    - Ron DeSantis voted YES on H R 4909 [bad vote]: School Violence - The STOP School Violence Act of 2018 (H.R. 4909) would authorize $75 million a year through fiscal year 2028 for the Justice Department’s Secure Our Schools grant program. SOS is a grant program of the Justice Department’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, which has been instrumental in laying the foundations for nationalizing local police by providing federal “assistance” in the form of funds, equipment, training, and development of guidelines to local law-enforcement agencies.

In a podcast interview with Conservative Review, Representative Thomas Massie (RKy.) said the “STOP School Violence Act was bad enough for nationalizing defense of our schools,” but he further revealed, “There is money in that bill that is going to go to gun control groups. It literally says in there you can give it to the 501-C3s, and then it also says in there it can’t go to train anybody on gun safety. It’s got to go for all the liberal sort of agendas.”
