    Pete Osmar [pcosmar] memorial thread

    Hello all.
Not sure if there's another thread on this.
Pete's wife let me know on Facebook that he passed on March 9.
They lived with her daughter and her husband so she's being looked after. But she has a broken heart.
I'm going to ask if there's any way we can help.
There are no crimes against people.
There are only crimes against the state.
And the state will never, ever choose to hold accountable its agents, because a thing can not commit a crime against itself.

I was afraid of that, when we had heard no updates or news.

I regret, to this day, not taking the time to meet up with Pete when we were both up on northern lake Michigan.

Word to the wise, people...do not pass those chances up. Friends, family, loved ones...see them when you have the opportunity.

    Tomorrow may be too late.

Travel easy my brother, and we'll meet on God's golden shore directly...

Gonna miss Pete, til we meet again...

Over the last number of years he took to taking my old liberal friends to task on my FB. One is particular, from back in Hawai'i, had the dumbest arguments that I just couldn't anymore and being an old friend, I started just ignoring them. That's where Pete stepped in and it was glorious. They'd go off and Pete would kill 'em with his cantankerous kindness...

RIP, and like AF mentioned, hug your loved ones

Pete was a down to earth liberty lover, and quite the character. He was an open book to all, and a fixture on this forum. He will be missed.

I think I have to mention that his Avatar picture would be among any Picture collage we would do of the Grassroots phenomenon. Right alongside the Blimp and Mike Moresco's bike ride across the country.

Pete was a Grateful Dead fan.

I can think of no Grateful Dead song more fitting than this to remember him by.

I am not ashamed to admit my tears right now...my mom, a good friend in real life and a good friend in the interlinks, all gone in the past couple of weeks...god damn it.

    Rest in peace my brother...

If I knew the way, I would take you home

Cliché and over used, but it's Friday night, and I'm sure Pete would approve, whether with a drink or a smoke. Cheers.
