Yeah, Trump is quite a douchebag for trying to give DeSantis one of his nicknames.

What evidence do you have that the Bush wing is pushing DeSantis? And what would that prove other than they still want someone other than Trump?

I don't think Trump has ever failed to attack a Republican that might get a little traction over his limelight. I'm sure he has attacked Paul and Massie before, so DeSantis is in good company.

And Oz was as much a disaster as thought when Trump interfered in the primary there. If Trump runs in 2024, it won't be to win, it will be to split the vote and try to make the republican candidate lose.

It doesn't even make much sense as a slur.

Being "sanctimonious" (i.e., hypocritically and/or unctuously pious) is a bad thing.

    So isn't being "de"-sanctimonious is a good thing ... ?

I've seen claims that the DeSantis campaign was supported by a Jeb!-backed PAC, or some such thing.

I don't know if it's true - or if it is true, how much of what kinds of support was given.

It wouldn't surprise me, though, for whatever reasons (opposing Trump, buying DeSantis off, etc. - or some combination of those things).

    That's how politics typically "works".

Milo completely reamed him in his Timcast irl interview.. Milo lives in Florida and thinks he is a great governor, but brought up all of the stuff about his questionable funding and says he is the type of guy who can easily be bought.

Milo is back, based as ever...

I wish Ron DeSantis could be governor for at least another decade. Florida needs to be come the Republicans California. He is the man to do it. I wish every state has a DeSantis or better for governor.

That said, I don't trust him in Washington. I never will.

DeSantis has been a huge disappointment when he signed the largest single tax hike in Florida's history into law. And so far he has done nothing to fight for the right to keep and bear arms except give lip service; he isn't leading on the issue. I am hoping that changes next session, but I suspect he will accept half-measures.

DeSantis was also originally bad on COVID actually setting up checkpoints on the highway but then once it was politically safe to do so he began reversing course and doing some good things. But again, only when it was politically safe to do so.
Regardless of the outcome, not much will change in Florida after Tuesday's election.

So, I typically find Tim grating, but I listened to some of this to give Milo a listen... I've never listened to him before.

But seriously, after about a 1/2 hour of that, I had to stop. People really find that guy interesting?! Smart?! Is it the accent? Bold statements??

That guy acts like a self-absorbed moron! Not surprising he idolizes another self-absorbed moron.

Tim keeps trying to interrupt in the beginning, but Milo is stronger and more charismatic and doesn't let him. That was slightly annoying, but eventually Tim just lets him go on.

Around 25:00 is about where it starts getting really good. Milo has not had any public interviews or speeches in 5 years, it took a minute for him to get warmed up.

I don't agree with him on everything, but his point of view is fascinating, I would encourage you to listen to the entire discussion. He casually says "women's suffrage is the original sin" toward the beginning and then just moves on like he said the sky is blue, but later expounds on that at great length. Essentially says women's equality was a demotion for women, but also does a great job explaining how that has shaped our current society.

If you still don't find it fascinating, then there's always 1:46:00

Remember, Luke is on there too. Whatever you think, Tim and Luke are really smart guys and they were both just blown away. They do these shows every single night and there hasn't been a timcast quite like this one.

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if DeSantis turned out to be a red herring and a fall guy just like McCain and Romney were to Obama.

He also comes off as Obama 2.0: A lot of hype but turns out to be complete shit.

Yeah, don't get me wrong... There's a lot not to like with DeSantis. Especially on foreign policy.

But here you have a loser with a bruised ego going after a winner. If there was one thing Republicans like, it's someone who's seen as a winner. Hell, I'd even go as far to say the establishment set it up for DeSantis to look like the big winner coming out of the midterm... Just to get rid of Trump. But even given that, Trump sounds like the biggest cuck with that release.

Impossible! He must be untouchable! Liberal heads explode over him!

Surely you two are not telling us those people are merely badmouthing him because that sort of thing makes Republican voters like politicians...

It has been quite a trip from calling me an idiot because I couldn't see CNN heads sploding over Trump to calling Navarro accusing DeSantis of cheating "being pushed by the Bush wing of the party", hasn't it boys?

So, let's take stock, shall we? 50% of Republican voters still think Trump's the real deal and DeSantis is a Bushie, 50% have eyes to see Trump's actual record, but think DeSantis might do something different, 98% never bothered to pay enough attention to know who Massie is, 100% are played. And the Deep State doesn't give a rat's ass which one wins because they're both completely reliable once you make a big enough campaign contribution. Presto! A GOP so divided against itself it can't even do something about crooked elections.

    100% played, boys. Enjoying it?

My two daughters and I were gang-raped by some of the Newcomers. It landed us in the hospital for 3 weeks as several bones were broken. I don't blame them, it was a sexual emergency and I wasn't about to go all white privilege and deny them the release they needed, especially after being stuck in a hotel for months. I see the Newcomers as family now. They are on our side and will help us stop Trump. It is a small price to pay. Anything but Trump.
