The music video for Unholy (which is the track performed at the Grammy's) is a hilarious contradiction. The video opens with the male character dropping off his "girlfriend" (trans co-singer Kim Petras) at work or some destination like that. While "she" is busy, he goes to "the Body Shop", which is a trans whorehouse. But when he dropped off his "girlfriend", he made the mistake of leaving a condom with the name "the Body Shop" on it, so "she" knows he's "cheating". Sam Smith presides over this Body Shop as a kind of god-of-justice, and his gaze upon seeing the "cheater" indicates that he knows what's really going on. Under his watchful gaze, the "cheater" is somehow ritualistically killed, an event having something to do with the car he dropped off his "girlfriend" with, which is now wrecked and painted "LIAR", "CHEAT", etc. The video closes with the "girlfriend" dancing with the rest of the gay/trans at "the Body Shop", over the dead body of the "cheater".

So. A man "cheats" on his gay/trans sex partner, by going to a gay/trans whorehouse, and is ritually killed/punished by Sam Smith (wearing devil's horns at the end) for his sins. Yeah. OK. Whatever.

People make their own free will choices, have to live with the results of those choices and bear the burdens of those choices, not blame someone else and shift the burden.

I don't think conservatives would disagree with that philosophy and libertarians definitely wouldn't.

Of course, it has a superficial appeal and even some truth. But as with all things, the most dangerous lies are those that are mixed with truth. The Lucifer series has more theological problems than you can shake a stick at, but the root problem is its presentation of the devil as a sympathetic character. From a biblical standpoint, the character called "Lucifer Morningstar" in Lucifer is not a picture of the devil, but of mankind.

Yep, great bit there. The devil provides options for humanity to make choices from and through perhaps some flattery and persuasion, but never direct force, temptation is offered. It's still the choice of the person whether they give in and make an "evil" choice. Since the devil runs hell, those who make the "evil" choices suffer the burdens of those choices. I think it's strange how ClaytonB, presumably of some-denomination-or-other Christianity, refutes that the devil punishes evil while also obviously realizing the devil runs the place where punishment of evil is administered. The devil doesn't send anyone there. They send themselves there through their own choices.

If you change perspective a bit and view the Body Shop video and Grammy performance through this lens, instead of the kneejerk "omg satan!!" lens, the message of the productions make more sense. They are also something of a 'revelation of the method' that humanity is continuously tested by.
