    This is good.

The state of Illinois bans full capacity magazines and the sale of so-called “assault weapons.” ALMOST ALL county sheriffs publically denounce law as “unconstitutional” and refuse to enforce it. Good news?

I assume that all of these sheriffs will gladly provide backup while the state dicks and the feds do the grabbing and arresting.

Probably not - not yet, anyway.

But if things are ever going to get to that point, then stages like this will have to be gone through first.

They have to learn to say "no" before they can be expected to say "hell, no! FAFO".

Larkin points to the psychological impact of this kind of thing on the people themselves and compares this situation to some of the variants studied in the Milgrom Experiment. The kinds of psychological gains we accrue that Rose alludes to are difficult to measure at present, but they’re certain to be significant and far more important than anything the sheriffs do or don’t do.
