So the US govt had decided to go to war with Russia while using Ukraine to do so.

That's what had me baffled about lefties. Back in 2008 we were allies against the wars and saw the news as advertisements paid for by the corporations of wars.

I'm going to bet that these stories about just sending tanks and planes and missile batteries and whatnot are actually the cover stories for sending not only the equipment but the ex-mil, now mercenaries, who also operate them. It takes a ridiculously long time to train fighter pilots, plane maintenance crews, tank crews and maintenance crews, etc. It's much faster to send not only the equipment but the people who already know how to operate and maintain it.

Ukraine did take back land this Fall, but looks pretty clear that Russia is currently getting the better of them & its hard to see that changing.
