I don't say this about MTG.

This idea that the choice is between swampy McCarthy or Democrat Jeffries is beyond moronic. The establishment is telling us that there isn't 1 other Republican capable of being Speaker and that Republican house members would rather vote for Democrat Jeffries than any Republican besides McCarthy. I say call their bluff.

Blaming the 10% of Republicans that are not voting McCarthy is blaming the few politicians that are showing actual leadership.

Meanwhile all that McCarthy has to do to win is just make a deal with the 20 holdouts... but he would rather not support a border wall or a balanced budget. Isn't it interesting that McCarthy refuses to make a deal with conservatives and more likely is making a backroom deal with Democrats?

McCarthy has completely failed his first test of leadership. Next!

MTG made an ass out of herself there. She is making angry statements about things she has heard second or third hand. She is engaging in High School level gossip, and may be getting played by McCarthy.

Edit: According to the Greenwald clip and past media reports, MTG has already been promised committee positions.

Amash floated his name apparently as an "moderate voice" that could pull votes from both sides of the aisle. This is a situation where his apparent TDS could really pay off.. Imagine a libertarian as House Speaker. I can't imagine he would be against any investigations into government, libertarians love investigating the government no matter what it is.. and we would have somebody who we would agree with nearly 100% of the time on policy issues.

If his whole TDS schtick was a show to position himself for something like this, then bravo.. I always thought he was too smart to believe in all that nonsense and did it because of his left leaning district, or as part of some other broad strategy. If an opportunity like this was the reason, then I applaud it. Doesn't look like there has been any traction on it yet, but would be a lot cooler if there was.

McCarthy is going to have to give in if he wants to be speaker. Nothing is going to change with more rounds of voting.

I can't help but wonder how high the "Present" vote would have to get before reluctant Republicans start voting for McCarthy. Based on the sixth round, if 18 of those who had voted for McCarthy were to vote "Present" (or just leave the chamber), then Jeffries would be elected.

If they can't even get McCarthy elected, they won't be stripping anyone of anything.

Guess they won't be investigating Hunter Biden, the origins of the Covid Pandemic, the Afghanistan withdrawal, the US Department of Justice, or what's happening on the US Southern border anytime soon.

Quite possibly a few or more than a few committee placement deals or otherwise deals took place about an hour ago
in closed-door meeting between McCarthy and no's.

If we don't know by tonight, we'll know by tomorrow.

McCarthy is inevitable unless No's defect to Jeffries or he rescinds.

According to @ChipRoytx (~3 min in video), Kevin McCarthy requested names for committees.

After being given those names, McCarthy used that list to claim they selfishly wanted committee position for themselves.

McCarthy is playing the media, and apparently played @RepMTG too.

    Winner winner Chicken dinner.

No investigation of why Fauci was illegally funding "gain of function" research in a Communist Chinese weapons lab on a virus that was eventually released into the world that killed millions of people.

We are truly in the most stupid of times.

Not a single $#@! was given, into how it happened, or how it could be prevented

Yet ALL the $#@!s were given, if you didn't wear a goddamn face diaper
