I tend to view the past generations, our ancestors, as people who tried to do their best. Many were foolish, some were greedy but by and large each generation leaves the world more advanced and the worldwide standard of living improved.

It takes a special kind of victim to whine about inheriting a world with modern housing/transportation and widespread knowledge, that or exceptionally stupid and entitled person who claims to not be a victim while sniveling about their lot in life...

Maybe......Just maybe......A few decades of toil, a few relationships, a few business endeavors and a few children will change your outlook? Or maybe not.

How you view your life and what you do to improve it will be judged by your children and their children.

I'm proud of my ancestors, maybe you can be too someday.

One thing is certain, the soapbox of the interwebs lets more voices be heard than any time in history.
Yyyyyyeaaaaah, uhm, I am thankful for modern amenities, most of which were figured out long before Boomers, by the way. That’s not even close to the discussion at hand. The issue is over how Boomers inherited the family fortune, completely blew it like drunken socialites, and proceed to ridicule Millennials for being weak. Meanwhile, uttering “OK, Boomer,” sends Boomers into an inconsolable tailspin.

You actually are reading how life expectancies and quality of life for the first time in history is worse for generations inheriting today vs. what every other generation before did. So while we do have air conditioning and automobiles, that obfuscates from the fact that Boomers have no qualms with siphoning every drop they can. They embraced lockdowns. Wore masks, forced kids to wear masks just so that Boomers could squeeze out more time. They didn’t care.

The issue at hand is it takes a certain generation to stare at $400,000 median home prices, $100,000 college tuition, $50,000 median new car prices, complete deindustrialization of the country, and conclude “Oh yeah, I still want mine (Social Security check).” That’s Boomers. Millennials have these headwinds, and then Boomers say suck it up buttercup, I want my $1500 Social Security check so I can joyride at the casino. Make sure you grab your daily lunch special at the Deuces Wild buffet!

No, I look fondly on previous generations. Not Boomers, though. Nothing honorable about demanding entitlements stay in place as Millennials deal with the biggest financial headwinds No generation previous has had. $400k for a home. It was unheard of to think young people couldn’t start a family in any generation prior to today. Today, that’s accepted and Boomers want those people to pay for the entitlements.

You seem to know "Boomers" whom I've never met, my siblings and I didn't inherit anything yet each of us are leaving our children legacy in the form of land and investments. A legacy each of us earned, on our own without government assistance. I have one brother who eats fast food and I'm certain neither he nor his family squabble over coupons, most of us prefer to cook our own food.

Like you, I whined as a youngster, gas jumped to over a dollar per gallon, a new car cost around $3k, a modest house without land was $25-30k while me as a lowly E-2 made just over $400.00 per MONTH before taxes.

Every generation wishes that they were born with their lifetime allotment of wealth and knowledge so that they could use it wisely while they're in good health..You're not the first, neither was I...

Many of my generation did embrace masks/lockdowns etc, and many believe 'TehNewz'.......Many didn't and don't.

Broad brush painting of people isn't smart but we all do it to a certain extent.

Personally I'd give up any 'free-stuff' government offers in order to secure my childs financial future. That's not even an option on the table with today's government but it should be.

I'd really like to see ALL social programs ended not just SSI and Med, this includes all federal pensions for GS ratings as well as all welfare and subsidies.

It was my parents generation that started off-shoring manufacturing, I watched my fathers business wither and die due to 'cheap Chinese $#@!". We all did our part to not patronize importers and I still do as much as possible yet each decade it gets more difficult.

You go ahead and blame the Boomers for the issues in your life if it makes you feel better.

Try objectively for a moment to say Millennials have it better economically than Boomers had it. Just try it. You cried about $1 gas. Try $400k for a median home. $100k for college—-a requisite for damn near Every job today—never the case for Boomers.

I can objectively say every generation had it better (economically/lifestyle) than prior generations going back to the Founding. That’s without a doubt. You cannot even begin to say that’s true with Boomers and Millennials. If you took a Boomer’s mentality and planted them into Millennials’ shoes, they’d cry and tap out. $400k for a median home? A Boomer couldn’t even imagine. You guys whined about $1 gas. It’s not even funny. Boomers throw a fit when a 50 cent coupon is denied in the store. Boomers are a nightmare to deal with in customer service, and I’ve never had to work in that field. Just observing it anytime I go in person it’s agonizing. I roll my eyes every time a Boomer makes a comment about how expensive their meal was. Like I said, Millennials pay the bill and move on. Yet you guys have this misconception Millennils whine. It’s rather hilarious. Next time you recoil at the cost of something, remind yourself of this debate and look around at how you never see Millennials make a scene over the price of a Big Mac. Boomers do it all the time. You guys can’t help it.

I can objectively say my kids, by the time they’re 25, will have a far better outlook than Millennials did at 25. Millennials are picking up the pieces of the economy Boomers broke.

But it is funny Boomers talking about leaving an inheritance after they siphon every dime in Social Security. I very much doubt Boomers will leave anything that’s projected. I completely see the paper wealth evaporating and Boomers demanding expansion in entitlements as the debt bubble bursts and everything circles the drain. Most Boomers are 80/20 in bond funds. These trillions in wealth handing off to Millennials ain’t gonna happen. And you can bet Boomers will do everything they can to demand Millennials hike payroll taxes.

We’re also going to have to spend $100k to update the cheesy Boomer homes to have any semblance of taste. Thanks for the honey oak and cheap-looking everything.

Though you’ve tried at least twice it seems to me that attempting to extend any kind of olive branch to this guy is pointless. Clearly he’s got a boulder-sized chip on his shoulder and is bound and determined to paint all “Boomers” with a broad, collectivst brush while completely ignoring the fact that any “Boomers” found HERE are most likely to be ones who fought all their lives against the very evils he whines so pathetically about.

Best to just let him stamp his little feet and have his little tantrum until he runs out of steam.

I must admit, I'm having trouble finding my dog in this fight. He reads like I do when I say, "I told you so."

Of course, I don't paint myself into the pic with a broad brush. But otherwise I'm pretty much getting preached to here in the choirbox.

Young, dumb, full of cum, and a member of a generation that doesn't have any smaller a percentage of idiots than ours.

Whatever ours is. Were you also switched from GenX Senior Member to Junior Boomer during your lifetime? All my siblings are older and you can't tell them anything either. So I still feel like GenX.

That’s hilarious given you’ve literally $#@!posted with zero substance and that’s all. I actually address and debate.

    OK Boomer!

Everything I said is an observable truth. Boomers aborted more babies than anyone else. Boomers will hold up a line for 10 minutes over a 50 cent coupon. They will cringe-complain about the price of food at a restaurant. And Boomers will ride Social Security into the ground for the sake of themselves, despite the burden it places on Millennials.

But that’s okay. We’re solving everything Boomers didn’t. Entitlements will collapse; we’ll allow for it. School choice is a thing despite Boomers in the 1980s arresting homeschool parents. Boomers commonly ostracized homeschooling when I grew up. Millennials today are way more embracing it. Boomers can’t wait to add the 29th line item bond issuance to the property tax bill. Boomers love their constipated bureaucracies. Like I said, thanks for the cable TV bundle.

This Boomer played no part in the story you tell, nor will I.

Quick, while you know everything hurry and fix the country!
Take your public school education and thousands of debt and develop a plan that'll secure your future.
Blame your parents generation for not doing enough for you! Hold them accountable for every injustice you perceive. Look down your nose at the people who literally built the world you live in and complain about because you deserve better!
You don't deserve this! You're special.

    ...
Not to point out the obvious, but you are complaining about prices just like the evil boomer stereotype you have created.

The problem is money printing and govt spending. That creates price inflation. When a person comes of age and starts paying for things, that is their first reference point for prices. The older people are, the more they remember paying less. That gets amplified by older people who stay at home more, and don't see the gradual increase. Time flies for them. That makes the price increases seem faster.

Your premise that this is all the blame of some specific generation does not hold up to scrutiny.

As far as the rest of govt, can we assume that you are old enough to vote and hold a job now? Why did you let Joe Biden and his friends destroy the country? You have a say now. Why did you let this happen?

Most people just live their lives, and don't pay attention to the slow machinations of the rent-seekers, hustlers, con-men and Marxists that are stealing from society without producing a thing. And people who might naturally care are sidetracked by their victimhood charade.

We’re also going to have to spend $100k to update the cheesy Boomer homes to have any semblance of taste. Thanks for the honey oak and cheap-looking everything.
Yeah, you have a complaint for everything, and it's always someone else's fault. One thing that has changed over the decades is the Marxist brainwashing, making everyone a victim of something. Consider that you may not have shed that conditioning, and it is still effecting your thinking.

The good news is that in ten years you will laugh at many of your opinions and beliefs of today.
"Foreign aid is taking money from the poor people of a rich country, and giving it to the rich people of a poor country." - Ron Paul
"Beware the Military-Industrial-Financial-Pharma-Corporate-Internet-Media-Government Complex." - B4L update of General Dwight D. Eisenhower
"Debt is the drug, Wall St. Banksters are the dealers, and politicians are the addicts." - B4L

If he really thinks any one generation is measurably wiser, by and large, than any other, that point is the top of his head. And doubly so if he thinks his own superior.

He must not have noticed when the Greatest Generation decided it'd be cool to pay poor people to breed.

That said, the duck has been intermittently trolling here so long, I suspect his beard is more gray than he's giving it credit for.

A self-loathing “Boomer”? That would explain a few things.

Or, he could just be the Marxist his rabid collectivism makes him appear to be.

    Who knows?
