My self-worth and esteem are in no way connected to sports teams, military teams, or entertainers that are purported to perform on my behalf.
In fact, if they cost me money, I would as soon wish them a humiliating defeat.
Without government support, thousands of our young soldiers would still be alive and sports heroines like Hope Solo wouldn't be overindulged and fuucked up in the head.

I do not particularly care about soccer. Although it's sort of our national sport, I watch some matches from time to time but I'm definitely not a die hard fan.
It does seem to be one of those things that bring the world together in a sort of good way... Like the olympics, which I also do not really watch.
