I am an Arizonan. There is no reason to believe a "straighter democracy" can take root in an environment where the corrupt have severely entrenched themselves. Maricopa County stands to become the Cook County of the West. The only possible thing that can prevent it is something a la the Battle of Athens occurring. As things stand, the corruption will continue so long as the perpetrators do not fear for their lives. The creation of that fear will not be happening in my lifetime.

Maricopa Violates AZ Laws to Have "Contingency Plans" if Lines "Significantly Exceed 30 Min."

    https://coronanews123.wordpress.com/...rnor-election/

ARIZONA ELECTION OFFICIALS VIOLATED STATE LAWS REQUIRING “IMPARTIAL” ELECTION AND TO KEEP LINES UNDER 30 MINUTES, ONE IS A FELONY

Requirements to develop and launch contingency plans in certain circumstances, failure is a felony.

Elections Procedures Manual (EPM) was to launch “Contingency Plans” if waits to vote went “significantly” over “30 minutes.” Penalty is a class 6 felony.

Below EPM “Contingency Planning” page 169:

“–The officer in charge of elections must have a contingency plan ready to implement if wait times consistently or significantly exceed 30 minutes. The contingency plan must include, but need not be limited to, the following:

    –A transfer plan for poll workers to move from a less busy location or from a reserve staging area;

    –A plan to open alternate voting locations (including a plan to educate voters about the new location);

    –A plan to add additional e-pollbooks (if used in the county);

    — A plan to add voting/secrecy booths; and

–A plan to add accessible voting equipment.”

REFUSAL TO PERFORM DUTY IS A FELONY

AZ Statute 16-1010: “Refusal by election officer to perform duty; violation of election law; classification: A person charged with performance of any duty under any law relating to elections who knowingly refuses to perform such duty, or who, in his official capacity, knowingly acts in violation of any provision of such law, is guilty of a class 6 felony unless a different punishment for such act or omission is prescribed by law.”
Violated requirement to conduct AZ elections with the “maximum degree of correctness, impartiality, uniformity and efficiency.”

According to the AZ election statute, Title 16, 16-452, the duties of the AZ Secretary of State and boards of supervisors, regarding elections, include conducting elections with a “maximum degree” of “impartiality.” The statute reads:

“After consultation with each county board of supervisors or other officer in charge of elections, the secretary of state shall prescribe rules to achieve and maintain the maximum degree of correctness, impartiality, uniformity and efficiency on the procedures for early voting and voting, and of producing, distributing, collecting, counting, tabulating and storing ballots. “

    Title 16, 16-452, reads:

“A person who violates any rule adopted pursuant to this section is guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor.”

AZ state law 13-707 stipulates that class 2 misdemeanors may be punished by up to four months in prison.

Polling location data shows clearly that impacted districts were overwhelmingly Republican-leaning.

    Arizona Sun Times :

Officials have duty to match number of polling location check-ins to number of ballots cast and post it in the Official Ballot Report. They refused to give this information. This is another felony violation of Election Procedures Manual, page 193.

VITAL: Disenfranchised Lake voters, witnesses, and whistleblowers MUST sign a kind of affidavit known as a “jurat” for it to be admitted as evidence in a court of law. This means signing and swearing that it is true before a notary. Otherwise a judge can simply throw them out, and they will be looking for any reason to. Information: “What is a Jurat.”

Kari Lake trial reveals 42.5% improper ballots in examination, testimony points to voter disenfranchisement
"That is 42.5% illegal ballots in their random samples. This election was completely illegitimate," the Lake War Room quote-tweeted.
    https://thepostmillennial.com/breaki...nfranchisement
    Roberto Wakerell-Cruz (21 December 2022)

Ballots reviewed in Wednesday's examination of ballots cast in Maricopa county for November's gubernatorial elections were not valid, according to Republican Candidate Kari Lake's legal team. A tweet from the Lake War Room said that 48 of 113 ballots reviewed during the examination were "19-inch ballots produced on 20-inch paper,"

"This one-inch discrepancy cause chaos on Election day. Causing the mass rejection of these votes as they were attempted to be read through the tabulators," the Kari Lake War Room wrote on Wednesday, as the former broadcaster's legal team seeks to prove that election tampering took place, leading to the victory of her opponent Katie Hobbs.
"That is 42.5% illegal ballots in their random samples. This election was completely illegitimate," the Lake War Room quote-tweeted. The defense is arguing that even if what Lake's team is claiming were true, the ballots would be tabulated later on and the votes would still be counted.
In another tweet, they wrote, "This Is how they disenfranchised Maricopa County voters on Election Day. The ballots were designed to be unable to be read through the machines. This wasn't an error. It was malice. The process worked exactly as they intended it to."

The race between Hobbs and Lake was decided by less than 18,000 votes, with the Democratic candidate winning 1,287,891 votes to Lake's 1,270,774. The counts put forward by Lake's team contest her loss. Most counts were thrown out by Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson, with 8 being tossed while two counts were allowed to proceed. Those counts deal with alleged intentional misconduct.
Lake told Turning Point USA's AmericaFest on Tuesday that this marked a "huge win" for her legal team, saying, "we got great news. We're taking these b*stards to trial!" Adding that Hobbs would take the stand in the trial.

It was later announced by Lake's attorneys that they had withdrawn the subpoena for Hobbs to testify.

"Maricopa County wants you to believe that they are so incompetent that all of the problems on Election Day can be written off as mistakes.

"Would that make it any better? Is the election better run by clowns and not crooks? This was no accident. And we're done with the circus," the Lake War Room would go on to tweet.

Kari Lake Trial: Witness Who Certifies Maricopa Machines Says Tabulator Mishaps Deliberate

Kari Lake Expert Witness Who Certifies Maricopa Machines Says Tabulator Mishaps Deliberate, No “Possibility of Human Error.”

Recall that on election day in Arizona 30% to nearly 60% of tabulation machines suddenly had problems, almost exclusively in Republican-heavy precincts. Maricopa County attorneys said in the trial that even if the machines had broken down, voters could go to another voting center to vote. But a judge on that day refused to extend the time for voting.

The defense attorney’s argument implied that voters have no other responsibilities than to find a place where the lines are shorter to vote, such as going to work or picking up children at daycare. In addition, poll workers were not trained in check-out procedures for voters who left to vote at another location, making it look as if that voter had already voted. This resulted in the voter being given a provisional ballot which was unlikely to be counted.

Now it turns out that the reason the tabulators were rejecting ballots was that 19-inch ballot images were being printed on 20-inch paper, which an expert for the plaintiff (Lake) said required admin authority and could not be accidental. Expert witness Clay Parikh, who worked for the company used by Maricopa County to certify its machines, said the misconfiguration caused the tabulation machines to reject the ballots.

    ...

Gateway Pundit’s reporter present at the trial writes:

Attorney Kevin Olsen asked [Witness Clay Parikh]: “Can this be done by accident. Parikh responded “No Sir. I reviewed the evidence and the printers are configured by script. This takes away any possibility of human error.”

A script is a short program which makes it easy to configure the settings on many machines at once.

In the Netherlands we used electronic voting machines from 1991 until 2007. Mainly because it's impossible for the voting public to check what happens in the firmware/software of the machine and therefore there's no way to 100% accurately check and re-check the vote. Votes on paper may be harder to count, but you can count them again, and again, and again if necessary. As a result, I've only voted on paper.

Counting our votes takes less than 24hrs usually and anyone that wants to watch is welcome to watch. Why can't you guys have the same ? Seems cheaper as well to just print ballots than to also have the machines, technicians, patents and idk what other bull$#@! is involved. Is this another situation where money is made on elections, so they have to be electronic because some corporations would lose out ?

Voting on paper isn't flawless either. I do think it's the method that is most acceptable.

One thing I think would help, here, anyone eligible to vote gets their invite sent to their registered address. You can have someone else vote for you if you want to, but this is limited so harvesting isn't really an option. When you vote you bring the invite, identify yourself and they cross you off the list. Then you vote and put your ballot in the sealed bin. This is then counted, observers welcome, totals for everything are public information.

People still vote the wrong way here though . But I have no illusion that my political philosophy is losing out due to fraud. People here actually want to be socialists.

You mean like the 19" ballots that printed out on 20" paper, that couldn't be counted by the machines, so then they were duplicated into larger printouts, and the originals are no longer available?

Oh trust me, they do here as well.

Freedom has long been unpopular, what is now unpopular is comfort and food and warmth and plenty.

Not only does roughly one third of the nation want to live under political tyranny, they want to do it while cold, sick, hungry and in the dark.

Prosperity, wealth, comfort, plenty of food and energy is white supremacy.

I've always been uncomfortable with this claim. I get it, most people will trade a lot of their freedom for "security", accepting the leash and dog-kennel in exchange for the daily bowl of dogfood. Hell, we all have our limit of just how much hardship we can realistically endure. But I think that people love freedom, they just don't really know what freedom even is (think about Gen-Zers who are growing up with mask/vaxx mandates and have never tasted even one drop of the ocean of freedom that boomers enjoyed growing up), let alone how to manage it and/or keep it from being snatched away. Anyway, I think that freedom can make a huge comeback under the right conditions. But people's hearts need to change, that's for sure. If your first instinct upon believing you're free to do whatever you want is to go burn the city down and pillage shopping malls, while screaming virtue-signaling slogans, you're not ready to be free. You need an "attitude adjustment", as they called it in the old days...

This can be augmented in design. We have the technology.

For example, protocol: you present ID, which is scanned. Your photo is then taken. Both are printed on the ballot at the top and you go vote.

This is one of several possibilities. Nothing is 100%, but we can surely do much better than we currently find, this all just taking the stupid voting thing as granted.

One thing I think would help, here, anyone eligible to vote gets their invite sent to their registered address.
ACLU would be on this like stink on Michelle Obama.

    Better solution: No.

If voting is so sacred, and I question the institution at its most basic level, then one simply has to make provision to be at the right place at the right time. If you cannot or will not, tough.
