Trevor, you know as well as we do, that you should have checked this out before the day of the event. If you do not know that, we have a bigger problem than you falling down on just this job.
An email should have been sent out on Friday, reminding people that this was the big weekend. Then another one should have been sent out yesterday. Had either of these occurred, it wouldn't have mattered so much that you were tired this morning and did not send out an email. But sadly, you did neither.
Trevor, I appreciate as much as anyone else the efforts you have put forth towards this campaign, but you have badly let us down on this. You asked to be involved in this fundraiser and you inserted yourself into the administration of the pre-existing teaparty07 website. When you did that, you took on a responsibility that you have utterly failed at. I am sorry, but that is the reality of the situation.
As far as I am concerned, you will not have sole access to any list of email subscribers for any future GRASSROOTS event. Fool me once.....
Assume good faith is a good policy to follow here as well, not just on Wikipedia:
This page in a nutshell:
* Unless there is strong evidence to the contrary, assume that people who work on the project are trying to help it, not hurt it.
* If criticism is needed, discuss editors' actions, but it is not ever necessary nor productive to accuse others of harmful motives. To assume good faith is a fundamental principle on Wikipedia. In allowing anyone to edit, we work from an assumption that most people are trying to help the project, not hurt it. If this were not true, a project like Wikipedia would be doomed from the beginning. When you can reasonably assume that a mistake someone made was a well-intentioned attempt to further the goals of the project, correct it without criticizing. When you disagree with people, remember that they probably believe that they are helping the project.
Consider using talk pages to clearly explain yourself, and give others the opportunity to do the same. Consider whether a dispute stems from different perspectives and look for ways to reach consensus if possible. This can avoid misunderstandings and prevent problems from escalating.
Good faith is obviously not bad faith. Bad faith editing can include deliberate disruption just to prove a point, playing games with policies, and vandalism. Even if good faith is in doubt, assume good faith where you can, be careful to remain civil yourself, and if necessary follow dispute resolution processes rather than edit warring or attacking other editors.Dealing with bad faith
Even if bad faith is evident, do not act uncivilly yourself in return, or attack others or lose your cool over it. It is not necessary to be a fanatic yourself. Even though it demands a lot of self control and patience, it is ultimately a lot easier for others to resolve a dispute and see who is breaching policies, if one side is clearly editing appropriately throughout.
Wikipedia administrators and other experienced editors involved in dispute resolution will usually be glad to help, and very capable of identifying policy-breaching conduct, if their attention is drawn to clear and specific evidence of it.
Accusing others of bad faith
Making unwarranted accusations of bad faith (as opposed to explanations of good faith) can be inflammatory, and is often unhelpful in a dispute. If bad faith motives are alleged without clear evidence that others' editing is in fact based upon bad faith, it can also count as a form of personal attack, and in it, the user accusing such claim is not assuming good faith.
Personally I like the approach of that one member: Torchbearer, if I remember his name correctly. His example should be followed.
My personal opinion is that Liberty Eagle, Cyclone and RPSignBomb are worthless posters. Never constructive, always on the attack. For those that agree please add them to your ignore list. I'm doing that now. I'll be adding others to my ignore list shortly.
Here is how:
Click profile name and then (in white lettering and on the right) click "Add to ignore list" and follow through with that. Man- it's long overdue!!!
I always value constructive criticism as do we all.. but these people make it so I can't come to the forums for feedback any longer so this is the only thing to do. Personally I wish the moderators would delete them - a private group is allowed to exclude disruptive members, Ron Paul backs this right and has said so publicly.
Again- for everyone else- congratulations on this terrific day!!! We're making incredible history.
There is a VERY good reason why Libertyeagle, Cyclone and now RPSignBomb is on my ignore list. Sheesh. This constantly yelling at people when something goes wrong or doesn't work exactly as planned is stupid.
Sometimes you have to go with the flow with set backs and there is nothing you can do about it. You can't go back in time and say well "what if that" and "what if this".
Living life constantly thinking of the past will get you no where.

Trevor, I appreciate your work, but that is going too far.
Those posters whose accounts you wish to be deleted are being hostile, yes. But they also have legitimate criticism. I'm more than a little disappointed that you make a boldfaced move to silence your critics.
Please rethink your post.
Again, I value your efforts very highly, and understand you've had difficulties with the email list. I just hope you can move forward constructively.

The vision of the helpful and protective state is the most pervasive and counter-productive ideology in the world today.
worthless? they're not the ones who royally $#@!ed up. you did. and you didn't even take responsibility for your actions. you blamed it on Feedburner. Liberty Eagle is right, you should have sent a reminder on friday, and yesterday. If you had, you would have known about this problem on friday, and could have resolved the problem. your priorities have changed since the blimp project. i think everyone can agree on that.
wow...
Nice use of the ad hominem attack. Well argued. Very articulate. I am impressed with your ability to be a grown up and admit mistakes so that you will be able to learn from them in the future. What is wrong with anything that has been said? Do you disagree that you should have sent out an email to the folks on Friday for the people who gave you their work email? Do you disagree that you should have sent out an email on Saturday? Or do you really think that getting up at noon on the day of the tea party and then attempting to send out an email was good enough?
Not one person on here has been able to defend Trevor's actions. All you can do is attack anyone who doesn't like them. Try looking at the facts and discussing those instead of flaming people for bringing up truth.
And as far as Liberty goes, I think he/she is being incredibly generous to Trevor and you attack Liberty?
I think it is extremely fair criticism that why wasn't TeaParty07 emails handled better.
If it was the Campagin that did something like that then people would be all over them.
I know I am first time poster, but I also would strongly support not having a single point of failure for tasks of such magnitude. We must remember no one is perfect.
Cannot change what has already happened. Everyone needs to stay postive and get this this thing done...from this point on. Send the email ASAP and rally the troops. Work together everyone for Ron Paul. Some of the chit isn't helping at this point....only thing that helps is what happens from this point on out.....argue or work to help Ron Paul...thats about the choices.
"Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear — kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor — with the cry of grave national emergency. Always there has been some terrible evil at home or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it."
-- General Douglas MacArthur
I think they would have a truly valid complaint if today was a failure to this point... which it clearly hasn't been. Again, people just need to chill out and take a deep breath.
$#@! HAPPENS... everyday $#@! happens... stop the bitching. Problem solvers dont sit around dragging everyone else down bitching and moaning. The complainers need to go take their crap away from those trying to solve the problems.
If we don't hit a high number of donations, the MSM is going to love threads like these to discredit the rEVOLution.
