With some Climate Change thrown in as well..

The "manifesto" was quite the mixed bag of Fail Causes.

I think the media has been saving up what to write when they finally get the "white supremacist shooter". I saw dozens of articles basically saying "Don't Vote for Republican White Supremacists" hours after it happened.

The media is losing their minds over this.

It fits their narrative. They've been pushing that narrative for decades. So, any time they find a story that seems to neatly fit the narrative, they run with it. Just like they ignore the myriad of stories that don't fit the narrative.

There doesn't even need to be some nefarious master scheme about it. It's like a sugar rush when you see something that fits what you want to believe. It happens on the right, too, BTW. Humans are narrative-based beings. It's very easy to minimize conflicting data and maximize supporting data, in any matter.

The big issue here is that the corporate press is pretty much in lockstep with their narrative of the world. So, they try to spread that narrative as far as they can. And anyone who doubts the narrative becomes an enemy.

I agree, I'm not a conspiracy guy. This was just perfect for the main media. I'm pretty sure this is the first "white-supremacist" shooter. There's been several false alarms where they thought the shooter was a white supremacist and they started jumping on it but then it turned out not to be true. This was golden for them.

And yeah, Fox news would do the same thing, it's just that Fox is outnumbered 50 to 1.

All that being said the coverage is dying down, I think it may be because the public is seeing thru the BS. The public is more worried about day to day things like inflation. And a cratering stock market followed by massive job losses.

The dissident right needs to come to terms with the fact that the movement attracts bitter, antisocial, dysfunctional people. That manifests in different ways, most of which are not violent. However, one manifestation is the psychopathic, manifesto-writing maniac.

I'm hearing that this kid brutally butchered cats and then had his mom help him bury the corpses. As a minor. A kid who does stuff like that isn't going to get better. Him doing something like this was inevitable. That said, the dissident right wing always wants to move past the fact that psychotic, evil people often take up their cause. It's a big problem, for the dissidents themselves too.

There's a long history of white nationalist types getting weapons and trying or succeeding in killing people for their ideology. Bash normiecons all you want, but they don't seem to attract such vicious, necrotic personality types. Wignats do. That says something about the ideology, and about the total unwillingness to police the movement.

No, it doesn't. It says something about this person. We really gotta fight the impulse to blame an ideology for the acts of an individual. That's what political opportunists do.

What percentage of people who hold that ideology do NOT commit mass murder??

The truth is that mass murderers will often choose an ideology to justify their desires. But that doesn't mean the ideology creates murderers.

Do you notice that the corporate press only blames the ideology when it's one they disagree with?? Otherwise, they blame the bad apple.

Mass shootings are the results of mental health disorders.

If you want healthy people, you need to have a healthy society.

We do not have a healthy society. (not even remotely)

For a healthy society, people need to be treated like grown adults capable of making their own decisions, and not serfs, slaves, subjects, or tax cattle.

    Recovery begins, with secession.

I'm not blaming the ideology for his actions. I specifically said that he would have done something similar regardless of what he believed. I don't doubt for a moment that this kid's psychopathy predates his white nationalism. Kids who sadistically butcher animals for their own pleasure don't just get better and become normal.

What I am saying is that these ideologies (dissident right/white nationalist/alt-right etc) seem to attract antisocial, dysfunctional, destructive people. Most of those people aren't murderers. A small percentage of them are. Even the ones that aren't are $#@!ed up in their own way. These ideologies seem to have no willingness to even acknowledge this fact, let alone try to fix it. These are trends I'm attempting to analyze.

Similarly, I don't think the ideology of anarcho-communism causes antifa to be violent, but I do think that these middle class students who do violence in the name of anti-fascism says something about their ideology, namely anarcho-communism.

You want your ideology, whatever it is, to have an internal antifragility, on its own terms. Meaning you want the ideology itself to repel such people, and to attract people who are intelligent and effective. The right has a really hard time with this. And that's a problem.

The surprising fact of the matter is that these incidents are not happening every hour on the hour, with the "right" and "left" carrying out a politically motivated shooting like the Congressional Baseball Team shooting or this one all day long.

I don't doubt for a second that is what would happen if we were not a nation of poltroons...one side is scared and the other glad of it.

And that's what keeps the lid on these types of incidents for the most part, except when nuts like this guy or Frank James pops up.

The 9000 pound rhino in the room that nobody wants to talk about is this:

The majority of mass shootings (defined as four or more shot or killed in one single incident, not including the suspect) in the country are carried out by black men, with no more thought or provocation other than: "Motherfucker touched my bitch in the club" or "Niggga thought he'd show his colors in this 'hood...$#@! that niggga and all his homies. Popped caps in all their asses."

Those are generally ignored because those shootings don't (usually) happen to Americans. They happen to Niggas. Nigga Land is basically its own autonomous entity that exists within the US, and though much of the land use overlaps, the Niggas belong to a completely different political system, with different rules, laws, and cultures.

We pretty much try to let the Niggas do their own thing. Sort of like the Indians. Except instead of casinos, the Niggas have gang shootings.

I get it. But let's not talk past each other. What I am trying to get across is that the ideology is irrelevant. Even if you sanitized every ideology you could, as long as there is something to be upset about, someone will use that as a personal justification to engage in violence. Instead of saying that "these ideologies seem to attract...", try seeing it as, "these violent people find an ideology to justify their predilections." Once you do that, I hope you'll see that any efforts to repel such people are futile.

Hell, religion is supposed to be all about peace, love and harmony, and yet it's been used for more atrocities than any other ideology. The only way any ideology could possibly "repel" potential murderers would be to ignore all the problems in the world. Because as soon as people agree that there is something not right in the world, some lunatic will use that as justification to do something violent about it.

911 dispatcher accused of hanging up on woman during Tops supermarket shooting

'She was yelling at me, saying, 'Why are you whispering'?'' said the woman, who was hiding behind the counter from the gunman
    Author of the article:
    Courtney Greenberg
    Publishing date:
    May 19, 2022 • 19 hours ago • 2 minute read •

The woman making the call was working at the Tops supermarket where 18-year-old Payton Gendron is accused of opening fire in the predominantly Black neighbourhood and leaving 10 dead.

The woman told The Buffalo News that she hid behind the customer service counter and dialled 911. She said she tried to keep her voice down so she wouldn’t attract the shooter’s attention.

“She was yelling at me, saying, ‘Why are you whispering? You don’t have to whisper,’ and I was telling her, ‘Ma’am, he’s still in the store. He’s shooting. I’m scared for my life. I don’t want him to hear me. Can you please send help?’ She got mad at me, hung up in my face,” Latisha Rogers told the outlet.

She said she felt like the dispatcher had left her to die. She then called her boyfriend and asked him to call police.

After an investigation, the dispatcher was put on administrative leave on Monday and could be fired at a disciplinary hearing planned for May 30, according to Erie County spokesperson Peter Anderson, the New York Times reported.

The recording or transcript of the call is not likely to be released publicly because of a New York County law that says they should not be used by any entity or person, “other than that municipality’s public safety agency, another government agency or body” or for any commercial purpose.

Meanwhile, Gendron has been charged with first-degree murder.

He appeared in court on Thursday for a felony hearing.

More information about his alleged motives continue to surface, including the white teen’s belief in the “replacement theory” — which is a view linked to white supremacy and espoused by right-wing media. It maintains that white Americans are purposely being replaced by immigrants. Fox News media personalities like Tucker Carlson have popularized the theory. He reportedly spoke about it more than 400 times on his show.

Investigators are still poring over a 180-page “manifesto,” which they say was written by Gendron and could include evidence, CNN reported.

Gendron faces the maximum sentence of life in prison with no parole, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Kinda odd, I would think it’s pretty common for 911 callers to whisper. Wonder if gun fire could be heard during the call. But to hang up on her. Dunno.....

FBI Withholding Records of Retired Fed. Agent’s Communications w/ Buffalo Shooter
'We are hopeful that the government will reconsider and share the evidence with the families... '
    https://headlineusa.com/fbi-withhold...ffalo-shooter/
    Ken Silva (24 April 2023)

Citing a potentially ongoing investigation, the FBI is refusing to disclose records about whether a retired federal agent had been communicating with mass shooter Payton Gendron shortly before he went on his killing spree in a Buffalo supermarket last May.

The Buffalo News first reported last May that the FBI was “tracking down and interviewing the six people, including the retired agent,” all of whom may have had contact with Gendron in an online chatroom 30 minutes before his shooting.

Headline USA had filed a Freedom of Information Act request for records about the FBI’s investigation into this matter—including for a copy of the bureau’s interview summary, or “FBI 302,” with the retired federal agent who spoke with the mass shooter.

The FBI has apparently interviewed at least some of the six people linked to Gendron in the chatroom. The bureau told Headline USA that records related to this are “located in an investigative file.”

However, the FBI said these records are exempt from disclosure because “there is a pending or prospective law enforcement proceeding relevant to these responsive records, and release of the information could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings.”

The FBI cites a potential investigation into this matter, despite the fact that Gendron pleaded guilty to the mass shooting last November and was sentenced to life imprisonment in February. The avowed white supremacist killed 10 people at a supermarket on May 14, 2022.

His victims are reportedly also having difficulties accessing government records.

The Buffalo News reported last Thursday that a federal protective order allows victims’ attorneys to view records “only while at the federal public defender’s office.”

“The attorneys can look at the evidence on the public defender’s computer screen only and in the presence of a member of the defense team. They are prohibited from downloading any of the information. They cannot print any of the documents. They can’t use any kind of recording devices, including a pencil and paper,” the newspaper said.

According to The Buffalo News, the protective order was imposed by a federal judge at the request of the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of New York, who claims that it’s for the public good.

Brett A. Harvey, assistant U.S. Attorney, reportedly argued in a motion that protective orders are “routinely issued” by courts “to protect against unwarranted disclosure of discovery materials to third parties.”

According to The Buffalo News, Harvey argued that the order would protect the privacy of “family members of the deceased, survivors of the attack, and eyewitnesses to the attack,” ensure a fair trial and allow those involved in the federal case to share material with those involved in the state case, which is now over. The U.S. Attorney’s Office reportedly said the material collected is “voluminous” and some of it is “sensitive, graphic and private.”

But defense attorneys reportedly say that access to the material—which include terabytes of videos, crime scene photos and the killer’s online communications—is vital in preparing their civil lawsuits.

“If it was handed over to us on a thumb drive, we could have it digitally organized,” victims’ attorney John Elmore reportedly told The Buffalo News.

“We are hopeful that the government will reconsider and share the evidence with the families.”

NY Gov. Hochul: We Need National Laws to Deal with Guns, Social Media

    https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2022...-social-media/

    PAM KEY 15 May 2022

Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that national laws for guns and social media were needed after a gunman opened fire in a Buffalo, N.Y. supermarket, killing 10 people on Saturday.

Hochul said, “They need to be called out. And leaders elected officials from both parties need to stand up at this moment and call it out and to shame it and to make sure these people crawl back into their holes and stay there. This cannot be part of our mainstream dialogue here in the United States of America. Leaders have a responsibility to call it out.”

She added, “As a leader of the state of New York, I also have a responsibility to make sure we protect people with respect to guns. We have some of the toughest laws in America on the books here, but the guns are coming in from other states or the enhanced magazine, which is exactly what happened here, the high-capacity magazine that led to the slaughter of people in my hometown. So, we are dealing with it on the gun side but also on the social media side. And the combination of the wild access to guns, unfettered, we need national laws to deal with this as well as the unfettered sharing of hate information on the internet, that is a lethal combination. We saw that on display here just hours ago yesterday.”
