Honestly I'm not sure how many Trump supporters were actually pissed off by Trump's endorsement of Oz. In their mind, Trump's endorsement was nothing more than him playing some sort of optics game to get Oz into the spotlight so that we can see just how bad and flawed of a candidate he is (Ties to the WEF, saying he won't renounce his Turkish citizenship if elected, dodging the question of if he would support sending foreign aid to Ukraine.)Note that he says "in the Republican Party". In other words, he has gotten a lot of feedback

The media, led by Hannity, ran a hit job on Barnette last moment before she could even have a legitimate chance to defend herself, calling her "unvetted".
Now it looks like McCormick may actually win, the worst of them all.

I hope MAGA nation sees what Trump did to them in PA. If it hadn't been for Trump confusing things with his Oz endorsement, Barnette would have won easily. She is the true reflection of GOP sentiment in the state. Trump was trying to make sure McCormick didn't win, but he should have kept his powder dry on that one.

The Pennsylvania primaries have been thrown into disarray after an election “glitch” caused an issue for thousands of mail-in ballots.
“An error by a company that prints ballots for several Pennsylvania counties made thousands of mail-in ballots unreadable Tuesday as voters were deciding hotly contested primaries for governor and U.S. Senate in one of the nation’s most important battleground states,” PBS reported.
“Officials in Lancaster County, the state’s sixth most populous, said the problem involved at least 21,000 mailed ballots, only a third of which were scanning properly,” the report stated. “The glitch will force election workers to redo ballots that can’t be read by the machine, a laborious process expected to take several days. Officials in the GOP-controlled county pledged that all the ballots will be counted eventually.”
“Citizens deserve to have accurate results from elections and they deserve to have them on election night, not days later,” Josh Parsons, a Republican and vice chair of the county board of commissioners, said at a news conference. “But because of this, we’re not going to have final election results from these mail ballots for probably several days, so that is very, very frustrating to us.”
“The Lancaster Board of Elections, of which Parsons is a member, renewed its criticism of a 2019 state voting law that expanded mail-in balloting but prevented counties from opening mailed ballots before Election Day to check for errors,” the report continued.

I think that making sure Barnett didn't win might have been equally important, and possibly even more important, to him than making sure McCormick didn't win. And I wouldn't rule out the possibility that he understood how his endorsement could result in McCormick winning, and may have considered that an acceptable consolation prize if he didn't manage to push Oz over the top.

At the point where Trump endorsed, Barnette wasn't even a viable alternative. Trump went with the TV personality over the establishment pick. Remember, he doesn't care about ideology - he cares about "wins". As long as his word can tip the scales a little, he has power.

On April 9, when Trump endorsed Oz, she was a big factor. In fact that timing makes it even more suspicious. In late March she was polling in single digits, and her popularity had just started to surge when Trump decided to endorse Oz.I think you're overestimating his 3D chess abilities.

I think Oz will win by a few hundred votes now. It's a real close one. I think Oz will at least try to listen to the PA citizens, because that's all he's got. McCormick is someone who is at least associated with an effort to bring the GOP back to its old neocon ways.

I don't see which poll you're referring to. On 4/3-4/4 Barnette polled at 15 percent, with Bartos above her within the MOE at 17, and Sands down at 11. In the same poll McCormick was at 27 and Oz at 21. Notably, this was the first time in the race that Barnette began to emerge as a serious contender.

If Oz loses to McCormick or loses in the General we need to beat Trump over the head with it.
Endorsing Oz to get rid of McCormick was debatable at first but doubling down after Barnette pulled up into a competitive position was unforgivable.
If Oz wins he will vote as Sen. Oz (D-Turkey) and we need to hit Trump with that when it happens.

Start working on the "2000 Mules" Part 2 for the Pennsylvania primary race.Oz’s margin has narrowed in the past day, as county election officials continue to count mail ballots, but election workers still have thousands of ballots left to count in the exceptionally close race.
Sounds fishy if David McCormick beats Dr. Mehmet Oz's lead because of mail ballots.

Oz wins this like 97% of the time. It's practically over. Only way this tips to McCormick is a recount, but he'll likely be down by almost 1,000 which makes the comeback very unlikely.

Who is former hedge fund CEO David McCormick?
A recent fundraiser sponsor in New York for David McCormick was the founder of a consulting firm representing the controversial Dominion Voting Systems. McCormick also made big bucks lobbying for Communist China. McCormick moved back to Pennsylvania to run in the GOP Senate race after Sean Parnell dropped from the race.
President Trump had this to say about McCormick at a recent rally in Pennsylvania.
Last Tuesday night when the mail-in ballots started to come in, David McCormick built a sizeable lead against Dr. Oz and Kathy Barnette in the GOP Senate primary election.
There are still votes to count nearly a week later.
Dr. Oz leads by less than 1,000 votes after 6 days of counting. The state is STILL not through counting ballots!

The unsaid secret is that they rarely count all the votes anywhere. They declare a winner in the media, and usually all other candidates concede. It's over. No rush or need to count all the votes.

The ballots don't exist for McCormick to win. Unless they find an extremely large error during a recount, Oz will win, and the chance of that happening is probably less than 2%.
