    • Cardiologist Prof Guido Pieles says footballers need cardiac screening regularly
    • FA advisor says only checks at 16 are mandatory, later tests just recommended
    • While top clubs test regularly that may not be the case in the lower leagues
    • Three players collapsed this week, while Sergio Aguero suffered a cardiac arrhythmia in a match last month and an Icelandic player had to be resuscitated
    • Currently no evidence to suggest heart problems are becoming more common
Heh, the words "covid" and "vaccine" don't appear anywhere in that article. That's some top-notch "nothing to see here" editing. Well done, Daily Mail!

No evidence? This should be easy to determine - a simple annual statistic of the number of heart problems, collapses, deaths, etc., should be easy enough to compile even by an ordinary journalist covering the league...

I'd like to see those statistics.

The Israeli Real-Time News Tuesday reported a 5-fold increase in sudden cardiac and unexplained deaths among FIFA players in 2021.. Since December, 183 professional athletes and coaches have suddenly collapsed, with 108 dead. A Real-Time News investigation revealed that most of the athletes were males, with only 15 females, and the vast majority being 17-40 years of age.

If it is true that heart issues have dramatically increased among younger men, it would be interesting to know what caused those cases. We know that the Covid vaccines have this potential adverse effect. Another possibility is that heart problems are a side effect of actually being infected with Covid. Hard to separate those two causes, especially when almost all of them have been vaccinated. Almost like that’s intentional...

Another tipoff that something was really wrong was the fact that none of our political leaders were taking into account the collateral damage of their countermeasures. There was no cost-benefit/risk-reward analysis for any of the countermeasures.

The World Health Organization did warn that the measures might result in excess deaths from starvation. Yet at no time did we ever see a mathematical model that took into account both sides of the coin — the death toll from the virus, and the collateral damage of the countermeasures. And without such an analysis, we could not assess whether the countermeasures might be more harmful than the virus.

Anytime you consider a public health measure, a cost-benefit analysis is essential. You cannot make a sensible decision without it. Yet here, such basics were ignored as if the collateral damage was inconsequential.
