Good stuff. I actually enjoyed David Letterman for awhile. Johnny Carson was always a good listener.
I think Reagan made a good point about statutes versus regulations. You're presumed innocent til proven guilty with a statute. It's the opposite with a regulation. Prolly explains why executive branches just bypass legislatures.
BTW, Reagan is 63 in that clip. Carson is 49.
+ rep.

Trump was saying the same things about government flaws back then. All countries are ripping off the US by not paying their share. Reagan had wit and wisdom with his rhetoric. The problem is that once a person actually gets in that spot instilling your beliefs or strategies could prove difficult. I am sure that Ron Paul would have had extreme difficulties instilling his remedies. Another consideration is that back at the time of those interviews people could still understand rational concepts.

Funny how late night TV changed. Johnny Carson was cut from 90 minutes to 60 minutes. It was once slow paced and more off the cuff.
You could tell that Johnny somewhat disagreed with Ronnie, but didn't make it an issue.
The whole late night scene is so unrecognizable now that I never tune in.

More Trump, from Frontline (2017), I was surprised.

GOP Making A Hero Of Kyle Rittenhouse | If You're Not Boosted, You're Not Fully Vaccinated
Only a complete moron (like Florida congressman Matt Gaetz) would celebrate the tragic loss of life in Kenosha by making a hero out of Kyle Rittenhouse. In booster shot news, CNN's Dr. Jonathan Reiner argues that it's time to move the goalposts on what it takes to be considered "fully vaccinated."
