How did you measure that? How did you account for the cumulative effect of those other factors? How did you adjust for the fact that printing rose from inflationary to hyperinflationary levels at Warp Speed under--oh. This is just more Trump spin, more derangement, more apologia.
Never mind. I didn't ask you to say anything rational.
Yeah, um, no, rational statements are not expected at all. Let us know when your broken little heart heals.

Not a long read, worth it....PORT OF SAVANNAH PART 1: LOGISTICS INDUSTRY SUCCESS AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF CALIFORNIA’S GREEN NEW DEAL
Georgians have substantial concerns regarding the American supply chain, and can look no further than to our own Port of Savannah. Proudly, we stand as the the third largest on the East Coast and fourth busiest in the United States. However, in October, the wait times for offshore container ships have grown to 8-10 days and shipping companies have decided to divert to other ports. Our private logistics sector is extremely robust, which has caused many to question the presence of hidden forces impacting our supply chain contrary to our nation’s interest. It appears they are correct.
The White House claims that our supply issues are complicated and may take years to resolve. Here is the President’s statement: “Strengthening our supply chains will continue to be my team’s focus. If federal support is needed, I will direct all appropriate action. And if the private sector doesn’t step up, we’re going to call them out and ask them to act. Because our goal is not only to get through this immediate bottleneck, but to address the longstanding weaknesses in our transportation supply chain that this pandemic has exposed.” Biden directs nearly all of his concern to blaming the private sector and COVID, but then promises some manner of federal bail out. No shock.
Bidens’ Chief of Staff, Ron Klain has projected that “most of the economic problems we’re facing are high class problems” which ignores increased expenses to everyday Americans relying on medicines, parts, health care supplies, and household goods. It is not just the Christmas ‘toys’ that Jen Psaki added to her remarks, perhaps to downplay the situation. Convincing Americans their everyday provisional concerns are a mirage of non-issues and denying the impact of inflation does not sit well with voters across both sides of the political aisle.
Americans are actively questioning the origins of the factors that are driving our inability to keep pace. Issues related to government policy, workforce, economics, and transportation contribute to trade flow, but there are two specific bottlenecks that have businesses and consumers puzzled. One issue is the insufficient pace of cargo debarkation operations to avoid vessel offshore wait times. The second concern is the pace of trucking from the port to deliver containers to warehouses and final destinations.
As we conducted research, we found excellent insight from logistics consultants, longshoremen, and warehouse owners from around the Port of Savannah. Additionally, we gained an immense amount of respect for the leadership of Griff Lynch, Executive Director at the Georgia Ports Authority, who has an eye on our supply chain. However, let’s not forget the initial uptick in offshore container ship debarkation wait periods began on the west coast in early September. On October 14 the independent journalists with The Conservative Treehouse, published an investigative piece regarding the original west coast port logistics lag. Thanks to their research — we can look no further than leftist policy gone awry. It is directly connected to the The California Version of The Green New Deal and an October 16, 2020, EPA Settlement With Transportation companies.
Large companies foresaw the supply chain issues and visited the White House long before COVID. The article states, “The trucking issue with California LA ports, i.e. the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) and the Port of Long Beach (POLB), is that all semi tractors have to be current with new California emissions standards. As a consequence, trucks cannot be older than 3 years if they are to pick up or deliver containers at those ports. This issue wipes out approximately half of the fleet trucks used to move containers in/out of the port. Operating the port 24/7 will not cure the issue, because all it does is pile up more containers that sit idle as they await a limited number of trucks to pick them up. THIS is the central issue.”https://www.georgiarecord.com/port-o...ipping-crisis/Companies began switching trucks at the border, to keep goods moving, but there are simply not enough compliant rigs to keep up with the import volume, and the expense of doing so is exorbitant. Several thousands of dollars per rig is what the government touts as the cost of compliance, but the accuracy of this may not be consistent with industry reality.
The article continues, “Yesterday [October 13, 2021], in an effort to obfuscate and actually hide the epicenter of the issue, the White House put on a performance to provide political cover. In a grand pantomime, Joe Biden met with the heads of the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach (Gene Seroka and Mario Cordero, respectively), and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU). The publicized meeting and White House conference was sold as Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg [on paternity leave since mid-August] showing actions they are taking to address delays and congestion across the transportation supply chain in Southern California.” As a result, the L.A. ports expanded their hours, but a farce cannot solve the traumatic effects of the EPA crackdown.
Once again, illogical, leftist political elites have hijacked our country. This time, it is impacting every single family and business by cost increases and delays in supply.

There's a lot of flat Mojave between Kingman and the Colorado River. Someone who slapped some asphalt on it and charged trucking companies to park container trailers, so Approved Tractors can shuttle from there west, and the semitractors the rest of the continent uses can swap westbound for eastbound loads, could make a killing.
The California Version of The Green New Deal and an October 16, 2020, EPA Settlement With Transportation is What’s Creating The Container Shipping Backlog – Working CA Ports 24/7 Will Not Help, Here’s Why
October 14, 2021 | Sundance
Hundreds of requests for details on the specifics of the container shipping backlog. So, I spent 3 days calling sources, digging for details and gathering information on the substantive issue at hand. The epicenter of the problem is not what is being outlined by financial media, corporate media and politicians who have a specific interest in distracting from the issues at hand. This has nothing to do with COVID-19.
The issues being discussed today relate to events that happened a long time ago. As a matter of fact, it was so predictable that Amazon, Walmart, UPS, FedEx, Samsung, The Home Depot and Target all had taken actions years ago -long before COVID- because they knew this day would come. It was not accidental that those companies showed up at the White House to discuss the issue, because there’s now a full court press to hide it.
There is one very specific regional issue driving the problem.
The trucking issue with California LA ports, ie the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) and the Port of Long Beach (POLB), is that all semi tractors have to be current with new California emissions standards. As a consequence, that mean trucks cannot be older than 3 years if they are to pick up or deliver containers at those ports. This issue wipes out approximately half of the fleet trucks used to move containers in/out of the port. Operating the port 24/7 will not cure the issue, because all it does is pile up more containers that sit idle as they await a limited number of trucks to pick them up. THIS is the central issue.
...
As I noted, the issue started becoming visible several years ago when the California Air Resource Board (CARB) announced the new environmental regulations. Several massive multinational corporations, with specifically in-tune supply and logistics operations, immediately recognized the issue they would face if 50+ percent of the trucking fleet would be blocked from entering California ports.
Yes, years ago the private sector predicted this would happen, and they started taking actions to protect their supply chains. What these massive corporations did to reduce their exposure to supply chain disruption was to immediately formulate plans to divert their goods to other ports. This was a very expensive shift in supply chain and logistic efforts for these massive corporations, which includes: Amazon, Walmart, UPS, FedEx, Samsung, The Home Depot and Target.
A long time before and during the era of the Trump administration, those massive multinational corporations knew they would need to redirect their import cargo quickly to avoid the bottleneck caused by California’s new emission standards. They began organizing new destination ports for their products and began setting up new hubs and distribution networks to avoid the predictable California port bottlenecks.
Obviously, for politically correct reasons; and in an effort to avoid the woke mob of environmentalist jackboots, the corporations didn’t publicly share any of the issues they could foresee coming – they just worked independently and quietly to avoid the issue.
However, it costs more money to move and entire supply chain for trillions of tons of goods coming. Hence, we saw prices climbing as a result of increased transportation costs being factored in to the new logistics. Did you hear about massive increases in container shipment prices? Well, THAT’S WHY. The entire supply chain from Asia to the United States was being modified from the closest port (California) to the ports where internal transportation would not be an issue.
Ships from China and SE Asia being diverted from California into the Gulf of Mexico or East coast have to go through the Panama Canal. It takes twice as long and costs twice as much, if not more. Hence, massive shipping price increases:

I heard that operating LA port 24/7 will get , at best , 3 percent more loaded .

From the OP of a thread I posted in 2019 on the passage of CA Assembly Bill 5:
The state already suffers from residents and businesses moving on to greener – and less expensive – pastures, and AB 5 only worsens this trend. Yadon warned the bill will have consequences that extend beyond employment classification. “Like the rest of the nation, California is experiencing a shortage of truck drivers, this measure will aggravate the problem by removing thousands of drivers from rosters as many have indicated they will move to other states or seek a different line of work all together.”

Ron PaulThere is nothing to fear from globalism, free trade and a single worldwide currency, but a globalism where free trade is competitively subsidized by each nation, a continuous trade war is dictated by the WTO, and the single currency is pure fiat, fear is justified. That type of globalism is destined to collapse into economic despair, inflationism and protectionism and managed by resurgent militant nationalism.

Apparently the Unions have been active at California ports, and CA Democrats are in their back pockets.
Truck drivers joined by dock workers in protests at the Port of Los Angeles
Truck drivers organized under the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union staged limited actions and pickets this past week at the Port of Los Angeles to demand the rehiring of workers fired in December 2019 and an end to the classification of drivers as independent contractors instead of employees.
...
The WSWS encourages all dock, shipyard and other port workers to contact the Socialist Equality Party and begin forming rank-and-file safety committees, independent of the unions and democratically run by workers themselves, to oversee safety conditions and organize collective action against the sacrifice of human life for corporate profits.
These committees must link up with autoworkers, health care workers, teachers and other logistics workers in a nationwide general strike to close all nonessential production to protect the lives of the working class.

Got some confirmation that a part of the problem and another bottleneck at the California ports is the Unions at the ports. Not sure when they unionized, but now that they are, it is a problem. Unions had been slowing down crane/unloading operations, and now that employees must be union members, it limits the labor pool, and management doesn't want to hire union members.
There have been stories of 2/3 of cranes sitting idle in the middle of the day. Yet at the same time, containers are piling up because of the trucking problem, which may partially explain the unloading slowdown.

Rubio Offers Florida as ‘Short-Term’ Solution to Stranded Container Ships; Blames California Laws for Tie-Up
https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2021...ws-for-tie-up/
JEFF POOR 20 Oct 2021
On Wednesday’s broadcast of FNC’s “Fox & Friends,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) backed up an earlier call from Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) to move container ships sitting in limbo offshore near the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach to Florida, where Rubio insisted those ships could be offloaded.
The Florida Republican U.S. Senator blamed California and California’s burdensome regulations for the tie-up.
“I think in the short-term the answer is, yes, [we can reroute through the Panama Canal]. I think in the long-term, one of the things we should be working on — strategically — is bringing more of this production to places where they make things out of Asia, out of China, and to the United States if possible,” he said. “But, if not, we have plenty of countries in this hemisphere that could use jobs.”
“Imagine if we had a bunch of factories that couldn’t be in America, but could be in Honduras, Guatemala, Haiti, or in the Dominican Republic,” Rubio continued. “It would create jobs. People wouldn’t have to leave those countries. They wouldn’t have to turn themselves over to these trafficking networks that abuse them as they bring them to the United States. It would bring products a lot closer to the United States. In terms of getting it in through ports like Florida, where we have multiple ports in Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and in Jacksonville that are open and others that are ready to go.”
“A lot of this that is happening in California is the state of California’s fault,” he added. “Their laws basically say if you’re an independent trucker, most truckers are independent. You can’t work in California. You have to be an employee of a company. Why would an independent trucker that lives in Texas become an employee of a company in California and then pay the exorbitant income taxes in California for every day they work shipping in California? They have decided, ‘Look, I’m not putting up with that hassle.'”
“Civilizations die from suicide, not by murder.” - Arnold Toynbee
I don't have to imagine that, Rubio. That's reality. And the reason it's reality is because you and your cohorts took a whole bunch of brib--er, "campaign contributions" and made things that way.“Imagine if we had a bunch of factories that couldn’t be in America, but could be in Honduras, Guatemala, Haiti, or in the Dominican Republic,” Rubio continued.
Trillions of new dollars chasing fewer goods. What could possibly go wrong?
