    Biden's Border Bungle: Immigration...Or Invasion?

    September 22, 2021

Americans on the Left and Right are finding themselves in rare agreement: whatever their position on immigration they view Biden's handling of the mass influx of Haitians at the Texas border as a disaster. How is it possible to have bungled so badly? What is to be done? Also today: "Ten for the big guy" turns out to be fact, not Russian disinformation. So now what? And a shocking discovery from JP Morgan on the Delta Variant.

Since man has to sustain his life by his own effort, the man who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain his life. The man who produces while others dispose of his product, is a slave.”

No lip-synch, no "ghostwriters", that I could detect. I watched to the end when he spoke about liberty. Let me know if you find anything different ;-)

After all these years of folks shoving words in Ron's mouth and dictating how he is supposed to think according to themselves. Ron is apparently much wiser than those who thought they could do this to him without his approval.

He said this many many years ago about that line between immigration and an invasion. Open borders are not absolute without question. Those words were quite obviously completely ignored.

    Ron Paul's position from 2007:

The talk must stop. We must secure our borders now. A nation without secure borders is no nation at all. It makes no sense to fight terrorists abroad when our own front door is left unlocked. This is my six point plan:

    • Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.
    • Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.
    • No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws.
    • No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.
    • End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.
    • Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

"I remember I got into trouble with Libertarians because I said there may well be a time when immigration is like an invasion and we have to treat it differently." - Ron Paul on Meet The Press 23 Dec 2007

MR. RUSSERT: You say you're a strict constructionist of the Constitution, and yet you want to amend the Constitution to say that children born here should not automatically be U.S. citizens.REP. PAUL: Well, amending the Constitution is constitutional. What's a--what's the contradiction there?
MR. RUSSERT: So in the Constitution as written, you want to amend?
REP. PAUL: Well, that's constitutional, to do it. Besides, it was the 14th Amendment. It wasn't in the original Constitution. And there's a, there's a confusion on interpretation. In the early years, it was never interpreted that way, and it's still confusing because people--individuals are supposed to have birthright citizenship if they're under the jurisdiction of the government. And somebody who illegally comes in this country as a drug dealer, is he under the jurisdiction and their children deserve citizenship? I think it's awfully, awfully confusing, and, and I, I--matter of fact, I have a bill to change that as well as a Constitutional amendment to clarify it.

I watched it. I heard Ron say that his response to Libertarians on this is that it is an invasion.

He said that it is to the benefit of cultural Marxists who want to see division and chaos.

He said that the people who have been crossing the border illegally are line jumpers, getting in front of those participating in the legal immigration process.

He said that the Haitians in particular are being used by the race baiters, once again for the leftist goal of division.

It in no way supports your positions.

Bull-hockey... Ron Paul does in fact support/endorse ending incentives, and would in fact prefer the free market to work it out.

Where Ron and I may differ, is in the area of "legal immigration", of which I oppose.

You know, it's silly-funny beyond belief, that some of the members here (including me) advocate secession from other states and the federal government, while at the same time thumping "make immigrants legal".

This is not a disagreement about incentives and you know it. Quit playing games.

Ron Paul clearly said the following:

Like revisiting Foreign Policy, the only solution to this problem is to revisit it. I agree - this is not a game. Repeating the same thing over and again only makes the problem worse, not better. Ending the incentives, imo, is the only thing that can/will slow the rate down, while abiding by the Bill of Rights, protecting Private Property and Contract Rights. But it will take ground-swell to make that happen. If you have a solution which will accomplish all of the mentioned, I am all ears.

As to what in that list I agree with - My take is, they are the result of, not the cause of, BAD policy. BOTH sides, Corporate Special Interest included, take advantage of the current policy that exists.

You can't end the incentives while being invaded by people who support them.
And the primary incentive when this all started was simple prosperity which you do not want to end.
You must collectively defend against invasion in order to create and maintain any individualism and liberty.

I just finished explaining that continuing your repeated failed policy allows the problem to persist

My policy has never been implemented.
And the closer things were to it being implemented the more success there was.
