A report from the Crime Prevention Council, Brå, has revealed that Sweden continues to see an increase in deadly shootings and now has the highest level in Europe.

According to Brå, Sweden was at the bottom of 22 other European countries when it came to fatal gun violence in the early 2000s. But since 2013, the country has seen a year-on-year rise and has been the leader for fatal gun violence since 2018.

“The increase reported by Sweden cannot be seen anywhere else in Europe. Sweden has moved from the bottom to the top in Europe’s statistics,” Brå investigator Klara Hradilova-Selin said, broadcaster SVT reports.

Eight in ten of the fatal shootings in Sweden are linked to criminal gang activity, primarily involving drug trafficking and organised crime.

Ms Hradilova-Selin noted that these factors also exist in other countries but added: “We do not know why fatal gun violence has increased the most in Sweden.”

Håkan Jarborg, the police commissioner in the Southern Police Region, told SVT: “Unfortunately, this confirms what we have seen in the past: that the increase in Sweden is unique.”

The increase in fatal shootings is largely limited to the 20 to 29 age group of young men. Between zero and four men of this age bracket are fatally shot, on average, per million people in other European countries. In Sweden, the figure is 18.

An analysis of the data also revealed that most young men lived in so-called ‘vulnerable areas’, with almost all coming from a migration background.

Despite the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, Sweden saw a record 47 fatal shootings last year, fulfilling predictions from November 2020 that the number would beat the previous year’s record.

Most of the fatal shootings took place in and around Stockholm. However, the multicultural city of Malmö saw a sharp decline, credited to the fact many of Malmö’s gang leaders were behind bars following the hacking of the encrypted chat service EncroChat, a communications tool used by criminals to organise illegal activity by European police forces.

Fair enough, but I think it is pretty well understood by all, that a bunch of Finns or Swiss immigrating to Sweden did not cause this issue. They had immigrating for decades with no issue.

Obviously the cause is suicidal commitments to "diversity" and allowing invasions of Muslims and Somalis and Eritreans and Iraqis that have.

Swedish Police Chief Links Migration to Surge in Fatal Shootings

Police Commissioner Erik Nord has acknowledged that mass migration is linked to the surge in fatal shootings in Sweden after a report noted Sweden was the only European country seeing a rising trend of fatal gun violence.

Commissioner Nord, who heads the police in the Greater Gothenburg region, commented on the recent report from the Crime Prevention Council (Brå), saying that the trend was linked to gang violence and migrants.

“It is no longer a secret today that much of the problem of gang and network crime with the shootings and explosions have been linked to migration to Sweden in recent decades,” Nord wrote in an opinion article for the newspaper Goteborgs Posten.

“When, like me, you have the opportunity to follow matters at the individual level, you see that virtually everyone who shoots or is shot in gang conflicts originates from the Balkans, the Middle East, North or East Africa,” he said.

Nord claims that several factors have led to an increase in shootings, saying cultural differences play a major role.

He notes that while Germany has also seen a large number of migrants since the migrant crisis in 2015, the fatal gun violence rate in Germany is far lower than in Sweden. Nord attributes the difference to the lack of police per capita in Sweden compared to Germany.

“It may be that part of the explanation for the bleak development in Sweden stems from a too small-sized police force that for many years has built up a debt that is now manifesting itself in the form of deadly gun violence,” he said.

Nord’s comments come months after he was accused of being “racist” for stating that foreign criminals do not belong in Sweden.

Several reports in recent years have revealed the problems Sweden has with gang violence and its relation to mass migration, such as a February 2020 report that noted all of the violent gang leaders in Stockholm had migrant backgrounds.

In September 2019, a report revealed that shooting suspects in the city of Malmö overwhelmingly came from migrant backgrounds, as well.
