Biden Coronavirus Relief Prioritizes Funds for Non-White Business Owners

Restaurants and venues owned by white men will be last in line for federal relief under President Joe Biden’s “Restaurants Revitalization Fund” (RRF), prioritizing funds for women and minority groups first.

As part of Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the Small Business Administration (SBA) is opening the application process by which owners of restaurant, bars, and other venues can apply for federal relief to help make up for the loss of revenue as a result of economic lockdowns spurred by the Chinese coronavirus crisis.

The plan allows business owners to apply for relief of up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Business owners do not have to repay the funds so long as the money is spent by March 2023.

The relief, though, is being prioritized based on race, gender, and whether or not business owners are considered “socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.” White men, for example, who are not Veterans of the United States Armed Forces, are not eligible for “priority period” processing and funding.

Under the guidelines of the RRF, the SBA is giving priority processing and funding to “small business owned by women, veterans, or socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.”

To be eligible, the business must be “at least 51 percent owned by one or more individuals who are women, veterans, or socially and economically disadvantaged and if the management and daily business operations of the applicant are controlled by one or more women, veterans, or socially and economically disadvantaged individual.”

The Biden administration is defining businesses owned by “socially and economically disadvantaged” individuals as those who are:

Part of an “economically disadvantaged Indian tribe”
“Subjected to racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias”
    Black American
    Hispanic American
Native American, including Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian
    Asian Pacific American
    Subcontinent Asian American

The RRF guidelines state that the SBA will “will look at whether the net worth of the individual claiming disadvantage is less than $750,000” and “will also look at whether the adjusted gross income of the individual averaged over the preceding three years exceeds $350,000” to determine if they are considered “economically disadvantaged.”

The Biden administration has used similar race-based priorities in other federal programs. This month a group of white farmers in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, and South Dakota filed suit against the Biden administration, alleging that a federal loan forgiveness program excludes them because they are white.

Unlike the Biden administration, former President Trump’s administration delivered funds to small businesses based on the amount of revenue they lost. For example, those who lost revenue of 90 percent or more were given priority for processing and funding.

I love the spin. Trump was responsible for dishing out the measly Go-F$ck-Off money in the first “relief” bill, giving Billions to the Globalists in charge.

I don’t need to reiterate that government, on both sides of the aisle, should stay the hell out of private business. Precedents have been set.

Not sure what you're saying here...I guess my first question is: you don't think government should be made to follow its own laws?

In all honesty, this is a blessing in disguise--selah...stop, pause and meditate. What is signifies to me is; not only are the people running the government, racist, but they are making sure the people of color get it first because, they know it is a genocide. Margret Sanger is a live and well in the minds of those pushing this genocide.

The whole point of the institution of the state is to have a double-standard wherein a government can be set up that doesn't have to follow the same laws as its subjects.

I do get what belian78's getting at. It's a given that handouts from any relief bill will be given out in some kind of order with some recipients coming before others, and politicians and bureaucrats rewarding the interest groups that empower them. Stating that obvious fact isn't headline-worthy though. So Breitbart has to point of the criterion of race so as to play into the fragility of whites who can't let go of a constant sense of victimhood and hype this up as something dramatic and more unconscionable than whatever other boring sounding and less headline-worthy criteria of cronyism would have otherwise been used. Breitbart audiences aren't as interested in opposing relief bills in general as they are in opposing relief bills that fail to put whites at the front of the line. This kind of red meat article helps shore up the Team Red versus Team Blue mentality that Breitbart profits from.

There is nothing to fear from globalism, free trade and a single worldwide currency, but a globalism where free trade is competitively subsidized by each nation, a continuous trade war is dictated by the WTO, and the single currency is pure fiat, fear is justified. That type of globalism is destined to collapse into economic despair, inflationism and protectionism and managed by resurgent militant nationalism.

Ohhhh, OK, I get it now.

I should just ignore coloreds in positions of power and authority that daily call for the extermination of my and my family, and look the other way when government commits race based felonies because it's playing into my fragility and victimhood.

Since I reject the concept of these relief packages in toto, I sometimes miss the more subtle messaging playing to my other sins of being white.

See how much simpler this position is than the Breitbart paradigm?

To paraphrase Albert Einstein, "A position should be as simple as possible, but no simpler than necessary."

It is a perfectly sensible and valid criticism of Breitbart et al. that they seem not to have nearly as much of a problem with this kind of policy, so long as whitey is not excluded from the line for handouts (or relegated to the back of that line). But that is properly a criticism only of Breitbart et al., and not of objections to the overt racism of the policy.

As proper and correct as it is to criticize and reject this policy (and others like it) on grounds that such handout programs shouldn't exist at all in the first place, that alone is not sufficient to exhaust the genus of serious problems inherent to the policy. Such an approach is certainly simple, but it is also "simpler than necessary."

The racialist and other "intersectional" bigotries being inculcated by the addition of Woke qualifications to already-objectionable policies are an entirely legitimate cause for concern and alarm.

In the coming years, white will have to be at the end of the line for other things instead of covid relief.

By definition, everyone meets that second criterion, because if they don't, they become economically disadvantaged by this ethnic-based federal relief, which would cause them to qualify for criterion #2.

We will forever be waiting at the end of the bread line, forced by law to allow those who are disadvantaged to cut in line before us.

Biden and the Democratic Party are implementing...systemic racism, right before our eyes. You have to love the irony.
